Up For Review….Microcell Nail Repair..

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty

Over the next few weeks I shall be using some nail products by Micro Cell, specialists in hand and nail care. I have been sent a gorgeous set of Nail Repair to review here on EAB, which I’m so happy about because I can’t get hold of my usual nail treatment and my nails are really suffering right now.

This is a super little try me kit that I shall be using over the next 2-3 weeks and then I shall be back with some “before” and “after” photos and a full review of the products. I’m looking forward to trying something new on my nails, the treatment that I’ve been using for over 10 years has been discontinued which was disappointing, so hopefully fingers crossed this will do the job for me.

See you back here soon.

My Most Repurchased Product……

Hello lovelies and welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty

I have been writing product reviews on my blog for nearly 3 years now, and even before I started I have been using this product that I’m going to share with you today.

IMG_8648

I think it must be 7 years maybe more that I gave up wearing acrylic nails, I used to do them myself at home. Then one day I just decided to remove them for good. My natural nails underneath were in a heck of a state! They had length but they were very weak dry and peeling, and paper thin. I cut them right down, filed them into my perfect shape and gave them a good soak and massage with the nail oil that came with my acrylics kit. They grew pretty quickly but they were still breaking and peeling. So I went into our local  chemist shop and picked up the Rimmel Nail Nurse Nail Rescue, and the rest, as they say is history. I’ve never looked back, 7 years later I still buy it over and over.

The Nail Nurse Nail Rescue is a treatment to be used over 14 days to begin with. Just paint onto clean unpolished nails every day for the first seven days. You now have 7 coats of the treatment on the nails. On the 8th day remove the product from the nails, and repeat the process for another 7 days. Even during the first week of using I noticed my nails beginning to look pinker and the tips whiter, and they were definitely growing stronger too. By the end of the 14 days I had the best nails I’d had for years! You do have to be strong and not be tempted to put on colour while using the treatment, but it’s worth it. I do still have myself a weekly treatment every now and then with the Nail Rescue, I apply it every day for 7 days without colour and it’s keeping my nails strong and long with no peeling at all, AND I always use it as a base coat to my manicure when I add colour.

I rarely recommend products that I review on EAB, because everyone is different. But this is one product that I would recommend, highly. It has worked on my once paper thin and peeling nails, it’s my hero product for the last 7 years or so AND it’s my MOST repurchased product. If you want to try it for yourself you can get it from Superdrug online HERE for just £4.49 or any High Street shop.

Thank you for stopping by today my loves.

Nicka K Nail Polish

Hello lovelies.

Nicka K are a brand I’ve never heard of before, and I was really excited to get these through the post.

IMG_5705 (3)

I was sent 3 pretty nail polishes by the brand Nicka K to try and then to tell you my thoughts here on Elegant Ageless Beauty.

1

The colours I’ve had sent to me are from left: NY121 Lilac, NY140 Golden Globe, NY118 Very Berry. The Lilac shade and the Golden Globe shade are a fairly sheer “metallic” nail polish and it took 3 coats to get it to look how I wanted it to look. My favourite is the Very Berry shade a gorgeous  bright pink. It took just 2 coats to be opaque. All of the nail polishes are lovely to apply with a long brush that holds the colour without dripping and flooding on the nail. They dry super quick to a lovely shiny finish. If you want to try some Nicka K for yourself, try Amazon HERE.

Thank You for stopping by today.

Latest in Beauty Box……Heart Beauty Essentials….

Hello again my lovelies.

IMG_2259

Mark bought me the new beauty box from Latest In Beauty which arrived on Thursday. It’s in collaboration with Heart radio station and it’s called Heart Beauty Essentials. It’s very lovely. I’ve always wanted to get into beauty boxes, and there’s a few around now. With most of them you have to pay a monthly subscription, but with Latest in Beauty’s boxes they give us one-off themed boxes, which is always chock-a-block with products from fabulous brands, some full size and some mini/travel/trial size. I’ve had two boxes now, and both times I’ve been gobsmacked by what’s inside.

IMG_2276

There is nothing in the Heart Beauty Essentials box that I won’t use. So, what do you get? From the left, a sample size of bareMinerals Complexion Rescue, a hydrating gel cream that combines skincare and coverage, it’s a bb cream, cc cream and tinted moisturiser in one product! The award winning Philosophy 3-in-1 Cleanser it removes makeup from the eyes, cleanses and tones the skin and lightly moisturises too. Next are two 50ml products from Dove, Youthful Vitality shampoo & Conditioner. Contains one of my favourite ingredients, Coconut Oil which made me love it right away. I’ve already used both products today, so a review will be coming soon! Next up, Green People Sun Lotion SPF 15 with Tan Accelerator, this is a 20ml size of product it smells amazing and is also organic too. They say trials have shown that you can tan faster by 25% when you use this lotion and the tan fading slows down by 50%. Sounds great to me, it means time spent out in the sun is reduced. Balance Me Radiance Face Mask is one of my favourite products in the box, I love the brand! I used the mask this morning, and it does what it says on the tube, it’s brightened my complexion completely, my skin is so much more radiant. Amie Hydrating Daily Moisturiser 100ml of product and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans as it’s free from any animal extracts. It’s paraben free and free of mineral oils. It’s also pH balanced. I haven’t tried this moisturiser yet, so I’ll get back to you with that. Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels 3.2g sachet containing a pair of eye gels to place under each eye for 10 minutes to help firm and de-puff tired eyes. Contains Icelandic glacial water which helps to tone and brighten too. Kneipp Devil’s Claw Herbal Bath contains natural essential oils and is beneficial for relaxing the back, shoulders and neck, a 20ml sample which is enough for 2 baths. Wild About Beauty Eyeshadow in the shade Alana. I’m not sure if everyone gets the same shade in the box or if there are other shades too. But this eyeshadow is skin friendly containing ingredients such as Aloe Vera and vitamins E and C. I’m thinking that this is a full size product in the box, 2.5g. Le Couvent des Minimes Cloisters Hand Cream smells absolutely divine! It’s deliciously floral and completely moisturising for hands, it’s gone straight into my handbag to use on the go. I had never heard of this brand, but because it smells so good I want to find more! This is a trial size 25ml. Vichy Idealia Life Serum is a 3ml sample. Suitable for all skin types and is paraben free. I’ve used this up already! There was enough for just one use, it’s to help skin look more radiant and even out the skintone, pores are meant to be reduced. Nails Inc Gel Effect nail polish in the shade Hyde Park Place. This is a full size nail polish in a gorgeous grey shade, one of my favourite colours for my nails so I was very happy to get this in my box. I’m wearing it now so I shall be writing a review on the wearability soon. Lastly in this amazing box of goodies is a cute little Heart shaped Face Cloth. You just immerse the heart in water and it expands, it’s ideal for removing your cleansers, masks and exfoliators.

So, for 13 products with a value worth over £70, I think that this box is fantastic value for £15.00, especially as I shall use everything in it. Ordering is easy from Latest in Beauty, and delivery very quick. We ordered this box on Sunday and I received it on Thursday, the only problem is with the courier. It’s Yodel, who never knock on the door to put the parcel in my hand, they always leave it on the doorstep. It wouldn’t be so bad if they wanted to leave it on the doorstep, if they could just knock or ring the bell so that I knew it was there? My First Beauty Box!!

Hello lovelies!

I’m a bit late to the party when it comes to beauty boxes, you know those gorgeous subscription ones that you get sent every month, the ones that contain beauty products some full size and some trial/travel size, which can also be a bit hit and miss? You know the ones I mean don’t you? Mark actually surprised me with one this week he bought one for me from Latest in Beauty.

IMG_1644

He bought me The Glamour Spring Edit Beauty Box, which is in conjunction with Glamour magazine. The box itself is a pretty mint green and purple, very Springlike and very sturdy too.

IMG_1631

The products themselves are wrapped in pretty polka dot tissue paper and holding it together is a sticky seal with the logo. On top of the products were three information cards. One card tells me what the products are, one is a card which gives you discount codes for the brands in the box, and lastly there is a card with a pre-paid subscription code to Glamour magazine, 12 print issues + 12 ipad and iphone editions.

IMG_1683

OMG! That was me when I opened the tissue wrapping. The contents are just fabulous. There are 8 FULL SIZE products in this box. From Revlon there is a Gel Envy nail polish and top coat, From Beauty UK, the very popular High Brow eyebrow kit, from Kiko a long-lasting stick eyeshadow, from Model Co a cream lip and cheek tint and the last cosmetics product is a pretty lip gloss from Rimmel. Also in this box of beautiful treasures is a Nuxe hydrating face mask and a Moroccan Oil hair mask, lastly there’s a cute little sample of an Ellie Saab perfume. I believe that there is approximately £69 worth of products in the Glamour Spring Edit box, plus the pre-paid subscription to Glamour magazine too, this is just outstanding value for just £16.99. Absolutely amazing! I’m yet to try all the products but as soon as I do I shall be back telling you my thoughts. In the meantime, if you would like to see this box and more then just click HERE to go to the Latest In Beauty website.

See you soon.

Spring Time Nails from MUA Makeup Academy……

Hello again lovely people!

I recently ordered  3 gorgeous nail polishes and a palette for the Spring season from MUA Makeup Academy, I thought that I’d just share the nail polish with you first, they are so pretty, I love them.

IMG_0210

Lavender, Spearmint, Posy

These 3 pretty pastel shades are perfect for Spring don’t you think? Lavender is my favourite to be honest as it has that grey undertone that I love, I think it has a very anti – aging effect on my hands. I applied 2 coats for it to become opaque,  the shine is lovely and it was touch dry in a matter of 5 minutes, a really gorgeous nail polish. The next shade, Spearmint is a pretty shade of mint green, this too is opaque in 2 coats and takes no time to dry to a lovely sheen. Now Posy, oh what a pretty pink nail polish this is! It’s a gorgeous colour it will be perfect if you have a Spring wedding to attend. The application is the same as the other 2 polishes, beautiful. If you need to paint your nails and then rush out the door, you couldn’t go far wrong with these beauties.

Because these nail polishes are light, pastel shades I thought they would be rather chalky and difficult to apply, maybe go streaky but no, they apply like a dream. Believe it or not these nail polishes are a bargain at just £1.00. You can check these and many more beautiful shades HERE.

Thank you for reading lovelies.

BINKY LONDON NAIL POLISH….

Hello again lovelies, thank you for stopping by to my little corner of the internet!

So you might have seen in my last post that I’ve been trying out a new brand (to me) of nail polish, it’s from Binky London. For those of you who don’t know, Binky is a gorgeous young lady who stars in a reality TV show in the UK called “Made in Chelsea” and who has recently brought out her own range of nail polish, and now lipstick and mascara too.

IMG_9189

Mark picked me up three beautiful nail polishes from Binky London last weekend, two are glitter and one is a gel effect nail polish. Regular readers know how I love a glitter nail polish and I certainly love these! So from left to right we have “Purple Shimmer” and for me it’s the colour of a beautiful Amethyst gem stone, next we have “Gold Rush” very bright gold, like you have dipped your finger in gold dust and finally there’s quite simply “Pink” and it’s a very pretty pink nothing simple about it at all.

IMG_9304

The two glitter nail polishes are so easy to use with what appears to be a fabulous flat brush making application simple in just one stroke! I applied just the one coat of “Purple Shimmer” and “Gold Rush” to my nails and they were completely covered in dense glitter. It didn’t separate like a lot of glitter polishes can do, as you can see from the photo none of my natural nail can be seen at all. After application though the tips of my nails felt slightly rough from the glitter but I just patted the tips with my finger and got a smooth finish. I love my two Binky London glitter nail polishes, I’m not sure how much they were when Mark picked them up for me as they were in a shop closing down sale but they retail on Binky London website for £3.95 HERE

The last of my nail polishes from Binky London is a gorgeous pink gel effect one. I adore the colour of this pink, and although I am a huge pink nail polish fan I very rarely wear it because I think it ages my hands somewhat. I have many pink shades of nail polish in my collection and tend to stay away from them most of the time, but for some reason this “Pink” really does suit my 54-year-old hands. The texture is not as thick as I was expecting for a gel nail polish, even so it does apply like a dream, its opaque with two coats. (sorry about the bad paint job, I was in too much of a rush) I did think that for a gel effect it would take ages to dry but it didn’t, it was touch dry in a couple of minutes. As for the wear of all three of the nail polishes, I’m impressed, I applied them on Monday morning and today is Thursday and not a chipped or peeling nail colour in sight. I’ve bathed, washed my hair gone about my usual household chores, typed on my laptop ect ect ect and my manicure is still looking really good. I would love some more Binky London gel effect polish and there are some beautiful colours to choose from , and at such a great price too at just £2.95 from HERE.

Thank you for reading lovelies!

ULTRA PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP COLLECTION from MAKEUP REVOLUTION…

Hello again lovelies.

So this sort of happened while looking at the Superdrug online sale after Christmas. It’s a very beautiful gift set from Makeup Revolution.

IMG_8812

The box is absolutely huge, very sturdy cardboard box with a flip-up lid. It’s a dark brown with the pretty rose gold branding and it has a good weight to it too. But just look at the gorgeousness within!

IMG_8783 (2)

I must say firstly though that in the photo the inside of the box is a different colour to the original, which is actually gold. The box was very difficult to photograph so Mark popped in a white card instead. Anyway, Makeup Revolution brought out some awesome gift sets exclusively to Superdrug for Christmas, and this one I picked (well Mark bought it for me) in their January sale. When it arrived and I opened the box for the first time I did sort of say “Oh wow!” There are 12 products in the set and they are: Redemption Palette “Showing Out”, Face Contour Kit, 3 x Nail Polish, 2 x Sheer Lip Gloss Tubes, Compact Mirror, Amazing Lip Gloss, Eye Liner, Glitter Eye Liner and Kohl Eyeliner. It really is a super set of make up and all for a bargain price of just £9.99 reduced from £25.00! Check out this and other Makeup Revolution gift sets in the Superdrug sale HERE. I can’t wait to start using it, and of course there will be reviews to follow.

Thank you for reading lovelies.

OCTOBER FAVOURITES!

Hello again lovelies!

Welcome to November! and welcome to my October favourites post. I’ve had quite a few products that I’ve enjoyed using during October, here are just a few of them.

IMG_5813

The Uplifting Eye Cream from Thea Skincare is by far my favorite of the month! It has made a huge difference to the appearance of my eyes. They are smoother both under the eyes and over the eyelid too. My eyes have become hooded over time with the ageing process, but I’ve noticed that I can see more of my eyelids rather than being shrouded by the hood, so it has definitely lifted my eyes. It also gives me super hydration and brightness under the eyes too. I really do recommend this eye cream it’s simply gorgeous. You can find it on Thea Skincare website HERE and at the moment it’s reduced from £19.95 to £15.96.

Capture09

I love glitter nail polish, and the Peel Off Basecoat from MUA Makeup Academy makes the removal of glitters a much happier process. It really does do exactly what it says on the bottle, it peels off so easily, along with your glitter nail polish in virtually one piece. You don’t necessarily have to use it just for your glitter polish you can use it for all your polishes. It’s kind to the nails because it won’t harm them in any way. The peel off basecoat is available for just £2.00 from HERE.

IMG_5171

I found this Wonder’full Mascara while looking for something else in our local Wilko store! It’s by Rimmel and it really is a wonderful mascara. I bought shade 001 Black. It contains Argan oil to help condition the lashes it’s a super wand and brush that delivers incredible colour and fullness too. Because of the Argan oil your lashes feel incredibly soft you don’t get the hard crispy feeling lashes. It’s out of stock at Wilko right now but you can get it HERE at Superdrug for £7.99

IMG_6479

Another favourite that I’ve actually only just started using is the Thea Skincare Cranberry & Cucumber Eye Make Up Remover. It’s a gorgeous gel very cooling and gentle on the eyes but it removes eye make up perfectly. It’s also great as an eye mask too. You can purchase this eye make up remover from Thea Skincare for just £11.96 HERE

IMG_5599

The Hall of Fame eye shadow palette from MUA Makeup Academy is the palette I’ve used most over the last month. It’s a selection of their most popular shades in one super palette, and as usual the quality and pigmentation of each shadow be it matte or frosted/shimmer is just gorgeous! And at just £4.00 from HERE is an absolute no brainer for me!

IMG_6058

As regular readers will know I’ve just had a month in nail polish on Elegant Ageless Beauty where I posted a nail colour each day for the whole of October, and my favourite of all of them is by far Stormy Skies from MUA. It’s just perfect for Autumn, it’s dark grey with a hint of sparkle within it. It’s a truly beautiful nail polish, and only £1.00 from HERE.

I could go on with a few more favourites from October, but it would make for a rather long post, so I’ll leave it there for now. Have you tried any of the products that are in my favourites?

Thank you for stopping by today.
