Matte Soft Focus Eyeshadow Palette from MUA Makeup Academy…

Hello beauty lovers, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty Blog.

I thought today I would share with you a pretty eyeshadow palette from the fabulous MUA Makeup Academy. This is the Matte Soft Focus Palette.

Please just feast your eyes on the prettiness of the colours in this palette! It’s perfect for Spring/Summer I think, soft matte pastel and neutral shades will suit all skin tones, and they are all encased in the MUA standard black packaging, with the double ended sponge applicator.

The 12 powder eyeshadows are all so creamy soft and blendable,   I didn’t find them chalky at all. Although I can see why the palette is called “Soft Focus” the eyeshadows are muted when applied to the eyelids, but then they can be built up to the intensity you want. When I tried these out for reviewing here on my blog, I did one eye with an eye primer and one without. I did find the colours applied more intensely to the primed eye lid, more of the pigment showed through. For last-ability? I wore the eyeshadows all day, it did fade but some colour did remain behind.

On the reverse of the palette you will find the names of all the shades, which is what I love about MUA, they don’t give you a silly sheet of acetate with names of shades printed on, that inevitably always gets misplaced. So from the top left is Delicate, next Balmy, Faint, Gentle, Dainty, lastly Misty. On the bottom row from left is Subdued, Tender, Muted, Tinted, Mellow, and lastly is Whisper. A really lovely eyeshadow palette and only £4.00 Here.

MUA have recently launched some beautiful new lipsticks, I’m off for a peruse, hopefully I can find something to suit me and I can bring you that soon as poss. Thank you for stopping by today.

A Trio of MUA Makeup Academy Pretties!

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

A couple of weeks ago I had a trip to our local Superdrug and treated my self to a few goodies, three of which are from MUA Makeup Academy, my favourite budget makeup brand.

I will be writing separate reviews on each of the products, but for now I’m just sharing with you the products I purchased. If you have these, I’d love to know your thoughts too. I’m nosy like that.

At the top there you can see that I have a really pretty eye shadow palette from MUA. Really lovely shades that are perfect for the Summer months, and they are ALL matte eyeshadows too, that’s a result. This is the Matte Soft Focus Eyeshadow Palette. I’ll have a review of the palette soon on EAB.

Next is a product that I have been after for ages, it’s the Custom Colour Foundation Mixer, in the shade Lightening, Cool. I’ve got a few foundations that I can’t use as they are too dark for me, so when I saw MUA had launched this product into their range I was so happy. I will have a review of the foundation mixer coming up soon.

Lastly, this lip gloss intrigued me. It’s from the MUA Luxe range and it’s called Unique Lip Gloss. This is what MUA says “Apply this pH reactive lip gloss to your lips for your personalised shade. Upon application the formula adapts to your natural pH to create a bespoke subtle pink shade.” I will of course get back to you when I’ve used it a few times and let you know if it does work. There might even be a pic of my lips! yes I’m getting daring aren’t I? But I feel that with a product like this I have to do it.

Okay beauties, I’ll be back soon with reviews on these three products. In the meantime if you would like to check them out for yourself the link to MUA Makeup Academy is HERE. Also Superdrug too is HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

A Few Empties, A Few Fails….

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty

I’ve got a few products to share with you that I’ve finished up and also a couple of “fails” as well, just a couple of things that I never really got on with in the long run. Let me start with the products that I’ve used up, and I’ve loved using every one of these products.

The Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser. Wow what an incredible cleanser this is. I have loved using it, mainly as my morning cleanse because the fragrance and the cooling sensation on the skin really wakens up the senses, plus gives an incredible deep cleanse and with the tiny Moor mud particles within, it’s a great exfoliating cleanser and readies the skin for other products/treatments. There is a full review HERE.

My last Empties post I had the Heaven Skincare Afternoon Tea Hand and Body Wash, now amongst my empties it pains me to say I have the matching Hand and Body Lotion all used up. I have loved using the lotion, so rich and creamy without stickiness and with a fragrance like no other, it literally brought Summer to my bathroom. It has been my handcream of choice when my hands have needed a bit of extra hydration too. I do have a full review HERE.

The wonderful Heaven Skincare Silver Bee Venom Mask is all used up too now. I have used this as an overnight mask, as a daytime moisturiser under makeup, and it’s the one face product that can be used right up to under the eyes without needing an eye cream. I’ve massaged my lips with it. This wonderful skincare product hydrates plumps and nourishes my skin, and I’m sorry that it’s all used up now, but I’m not crying too hard I still have my gold bee venom mask yet! There is a review if you would like to read it, just HERE.

As hard as I pump the pump on my beautiful epiSpa Organic Illuminating Eye Cream, I just cannot get anymore product out! This has been my go to eye cream when I wear a full face of makeup which included under eye concealer. I just found it perfect for brightening my under eyes without horrid glitter particles, my concealer never creases when I use this, and the skin under my eyes stays supple and hydrated too. My review is HERE.

So there has been a couple of “fails” I want to share with you too, those products that for me don’t draw me to reach for them on a regular basis.

Unfortunately The W7 In the Mood eye shadow palette looks gorgeous on the outside it looks like it’s going to be amazing when you look inside, but when using the eyeshadows I got nothing out of it, or it was hard work to use. The colours are lovely and right up my street, but pigment was just off and when I did get some colour payoff it was quite chalky and had some fallout. I liked this palette when I first got it, but having used it a few times, I realised that it’s not for me. My original review is HERE.

Yes you may be a little surprised to see an MUA Makeup Academy product here in my fails, regular readers will know that MUA are my favourite budget make up brand. But honestly I did love the Matte Perfect Primer for a while and it did the job, but after some time of using it I was getting breakouts on my chin, it was almost like the primer was clogging up my pores. It’s a lovely product of course it is, but it wasn’t for me unfortunately. I have had to swap to another  MUA primer instead now. If you would like to see my review of the Matte Perfect primer you can find it HERE.

So that’s my empties plus a couple of fails, thank you for reading today. Do you have Instagram and are you following me there? I’d love to have some new followers I’m HERE.

Makeup Revolution Renaissance Palette…Daytime

So Mark surprised me with a little Superdrug delivery last week and one of the products inside was this smashing palette by Makeup Revolution, this is the Renaissance Palette, Daytime.

A cute little compact sized palette in a pretty cream with rose gold hard wear, and the palette itself is shrouded in a cream velour pouch which is snuggled in a cream and gold  box. Now the photos have been taken I wont keep my palette in the box or pouch, the box will go into the recycling bin, and the pouch I’m keeping in my handbag for when I’m out and about, sometimes I get the urge to have to remove the jewellery I’m wearing that day, and it was always like searching an abyss in my hand bag to retrieve earrings so now I can just pop them in the little pouch should the urge take me! Anyway I digress, what did I think of the Renaissance Palette?

The palette is as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside. The five neutral eyeshadows are sitting in a bed of gold, and are a really good size individually. The first shade is a cream coloured shimmer shade for highlighting the eye the others are all matte eyeshadows. There’s a double ended applicator laying to the front of the palette, this time it’s brushes on both ends instead of the usual sponge applicator. The eyeshadows themselves are as you would expect from Makeup Revolution, lovely and buttery soft and so easy to blend. I got a little fall out from the darkest shade when putting under my lower lashes, but a quick swipe with a fluffy brush and it’s soon sorted.

The Renaissance Palette Daytime is just what it says it is, perfect for your natural daytime look, and there’s one for night time too, with both just £8.00 each on TAM Beauty website HERE. If you aren’t in the UK, TAM Beauty does ship internationally. If you are in the UK you can also buy from Superdrug online HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today, I shall be back soon to share a few more colour cosmetics products with you. I feel like it’s been an absolute age since I had some makeup reviews here on EAB so I must rectify that.

See you soon.

January Favourites!

Hello lovelies! Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

So the first month of a new year has gone and we’re into February, I for one cannot wait for Spring, my favourite season. Just to have some bright light coming in through the windows would be oh so good! Not just for my sense of well-being but it would make the taking of photos for my blog so much easier too. Anyhow, I thought as it’s a new month I would share with you what I’ve loved through January. Let me start with some skincare.

beepeel

I am still enjoying my Heaven Skincare Bee Peel. I use it twice a week at night-time after cleansing, just leaving on my face for ten minutes before rinsing off, leaves my skin feeling fresher and softer, looking plumper and more radiant and enlarged pores appear lessened. AND, I have used the Bee Peel on my hands too! I shall tell you more about that in a later blog post. I have a review of Heaven Skincare Bee Peel HERE

IMG_3611

An oldie but a goodie! The wonderful MUA Makeup Academy Undressed palette has been my go to eyeshadow during January. When this palette was launched it was dubbed the perfect dupe for the Urban Decay original Naked palette. Many dupes have come after this one, but for me this MUA one is my favourite, and the best. If you would like to see my review you can find it HERE. You can purchase from HERE.

IMG_8851

MUA Makeup Academy’s Metallic Liquid Lips in the shade Bedazzle has been a big favourite over the last month. It’s moisturising and glossy for the colder months of Winter, and it’s super pigmented too. You can find more shades of Metallic Liquid Lips HERE,  and I also have a review HERE.

IMG_9277

This Wonder Balm from Beauty Kitchen has been a saviour of my nails and lips throughout the whole of the last year, not just the last month. I use it all the time, keeping it to hand everywhere I go. I use it as a lip balm to keep my lips from becoming dry and it’s fantastic to massage into my cuticles between manicures too. Find Beauty Kitchen HERE. And I have a review HERE.

The absolute highlight of January for me was becoming a winner! I won Heaven Skincare Best Blogger award at their annual awards event last Sunday 22nd January. Unfortunately Mark and I couldn’t attend the event in Birmingham, but when I found out I had won I was absolutely gobsmacked, shocked, humbled, and every positive emotion you can think of I felt it. I will be writing a blog post about winning my award because there are a few people I need to thank properly, and a separate post is needed for that.

Thank you for stopping by today my loves.

MUA Makeup Academy Luxe Palette…..”Enchanted”…

Hi welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

As regular readers of EAB know my favourite makeup brand from the High Street is MUA Makeup Academy. Just lately they have introduced many new products to their LUXE range, and they have really excelled themselves, everything I’ve seen is just stunning. I picked up one of the new luxe eyeshadow palettes from Superdrug last week, this is “Enchanted

muaenchanted2

Encased in the shiny slimline little black palette are 5 silky and shimmery eyeshadows merged in waves of pure prettiness! The pink/lilac toned shades are gorgeous and right up my street. The first shade in the palette is a very pale pink, which I had to apply a couple of times to get a good colour payoff, the next one is my favourite, it’s a gorgeous rose gold shade and this one felt so creamy and blended beautifully. Next we have a slightly darker pink with a warmer tone to it, again it’s soft and creamy and easy to blend. The fourth shade in the palette is deep pink that has a copper tone to it when blended on the eye, and lastly there is a deep rose bronze shade. The Enchanted palette is perfect for the Autumn, I shall be using it a lot, probably with my Elysium palette from MUA which has some great matte shades to use along with this one. I’ve a review of the Elysium palette HERE.

The Enchanted palette from MUA Makeup Academy is just £6.00, I got mine from Superdrug on the High Street, but you can get it from MUA website HERE.

August Favourites!

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

So here we are in a new month, the year is just flying and it will be Christmas and New Year before we know it! I must admit I’m looking forward to the Autumn/Fall season, bring on the darker nail polish and lipstick, the fluffy jumpers and onesies, hot chocolate with marshmallows and spicy candles too! Anyway, because it’s a new month I thought that I would tell you what I’ve been loving during the month of August. Here we go….

FreedomAudaciousMattes

First up is this gorgeous matte eyeshadow palette from Freedom Makeup. It’s called the Pro 12 Audacious Matte Palette. I’ve enjoyed using this palette a lot, the pigment and colour payoff is great on most of the shades, although I had a problem with one or two of them. You can read a full review HERE.

FreedomGlowTonic

Next up is another Freedom Makeup product, this time it’s skincare. I’ve really enjoyed using the ProStudio Glycolic Glow Tonic. I don’t have the budget for the “high-end” glow tonic everyone raves about, but apparently this is a great “dupe” for it. I haven’t been using it every day, just two or three times a week at night-time only and I love what it’s doing to my skin. You can read my full review HERE.

HeavenAfternoonTeaDuo

Now for something VERY luxurious! I was lucky enough to win this gorgeous duo from Heaven Skincare over on a Twitter competition. This is Afternoon Tea Hand & Body Wash and a Hand & Body Cream. It really is just so very luxurious, it smells amazing it’s like having a spa every day in your own bathroom! The wash doesn’t dry out my skin either like a lot of body washes do. The body cream is thick and creamy, it feels cooling when I apply it and it sinks in like a dream. The fragrance remains on the skin for hours afterwards, sometimes I don’t feel the need to wear perfume, yes it’s that good! See my full review HERE.

IMG_1411 (2)

I’ve been using my Ariane Poole Cosmetics Plumping Lipgloss rather a lot over August. It gives me colour on my lips but in such a sheer and pretty coverage, perfect for Summertime. I have the shade “Wonder” it’s that “my lips but better” sort of colour, really pretty. It’s not sticky or gloopy, it’s light and comfortable to wear. If you would like to read my full review, click HERE.

Freedom Pro 12 Audacious Mattes Palette

Freedom Glycolic Glow Tonic

Heaven Skincare Afternoon Tea Duo

Ariane Poole Cosmetics Plumping Lipgloss

Another favourite that I was enjoying during August was the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. I was just so proud of all our (Team GB) athletes. As a huge tennis fan I was over the moon when Andy Murray became Olympic Champion for the second time. Now we are in September and the Paralympics starts next week, you can be sure I shall be cheering on Team GB, especially sprinter Johnnie Peacock who is actually a “local lad” to me.

I hope you have had a great August, see you for some more reviews very soon.

My Top 6 MUA Makeup Academy Products….

Hey lovelies, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

As regular readers of EAB might know, my favourite High Street budget makeup brand is the fabulous MUA Makeup Academy. Obviously I love them for  the price point of the products, but you also get great quality for such little money too. I thought that I would share with you my top 5 MUA products that I’ve been using for a long time or I’ve just found and been loving quite recently.

MuaMattePowder

The Skin Define Matte Perfect Loose Powder. This is a newer product in my makeup bag and I do use it every time I wear makeup. It really gives my skin the matte finish I like, it doesn’t clog up my pores and it’s nourishing with the Vitamins A and E, and Jojoba in there too. See my full review HERE

IMG_7920 (2)

The award winning Pro-Base Prime & Conceal. This is just fabulous! It’s got everything you need for colour correcting different areas of the face, it’s soft and creamy and blends beautifully. I’ve actually “hit pan” on the salmon pink shade now, it’s the one I use most of all. Click HERE for full review.

IMG_7681

The gorgeous Elysium eye shadow palette is my most reached for MUA palette. Gorgeous mix of shimmer and matte shades for a pretty daytime look, to the sexy sultry smokey eye for evenings out. If you would like to see my full review, please click HERE.

IMG_0316 (2)

For Spring and Summer time I’m loving a more natural look for my lips. For me there is nothing better than the Sweet Sheen Lip Balm in the shade Coral Reef. It’s just the right amount of colour and is super hydrating for the lips. You can see my full review HERE.

MuaLipScrub

I adore this lip scrub, I use it every night during my evening skincare routine. No more waking up with dry lips for me. It sloughs away all the dry skin and hydrates and conditions them with lovely Vitamin E. You can see my full review HERE.

MuaAvocadoMascara

The Eye Define Nourish & Care Volume Mascara is a new discovery for me and it’s now my favourite budget brand mascara. It’s so black, it volumises my eye lashes and it conditions too. The brush itself is perfect and grabs every lash for me. You can see my full review HERE.

So that’s my top 6 MUA Makeup Academy products that I love to use on a regular basis. If you haven’t checked out MUA yet, click HERE.

I Found Freedom! Pro 12 Audacious Mattes Palette…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty my lovelies!

Yes it’s true I’ve found Freedom. Freedom Makeup that is, I’m rather late to the party but I’ve arrived at last! I’ve a couple of Freedom Makeup products to share with you over the coming few blog posts and today I thought that I’d start with something that I got on a recent shopping trip to Superdrug, this is the Pr0 12 Audacious Mattes Palette from Freedom Makeup. This brand by the way, if you don’t already know is under the same umbrella as Makeup Revolution and created by the same man, Adam Minto.

FreedomAudaciousMattes

This is a 12 shade eyeshadow palette and each pan is a great size. The packaging is sleek black plastic with a window on the top to show the prettiness within, it’s a sturdy feeling palette, nothing flimsy about it at all, the branding on this is in a clean white.

FreedomAudaciousMattesOpen

This is a lovely nude/naturals palette which will take you from day to night with your eye looks. My first impression on opening the palette is that the top row of eyeshadows are very similar in colour, all seem to have a yellow undertone, but they are very beautiful in texture, so soft and utterly buttery very pigmented and blend so well. The second row disappointed me, I love the colours yes, again they are very soft, but I couldn’t get much colour payoff at all. The last row with the deeper shades are quite stunning! The softness and blendability is gorgeous, albeit a bit powdery and I did get a bit of fallout from them, but that doesn’t bother me I can just brush it away.

Because these are matte eyeshadows I knew I might have a problem with how long they last on the skin during the day, so I did one eye with primer and one without. I did get more colour payoff with the middle row on the primed eye but the eyeshadows are buildable, so I did get even eyes when I did my unprimed eye! At the end of the day I noticed there wasn’t much difference in the wear of the eyeshadows, both had faded slightly, but neither eye had creased and the darker shade that I used to line my eyes with was still visible. For just £4.00 this is a super matte palette to have in your collection if you love matte eyeshadows. I purchased my Audacious Mattes Palette from Superdrug on the High Street, right now I can’t find it on Superdrug website. You can however purchase from Tam Beauty website, where they do ship internationally HERE.

Have you tried Freedom Makeup? What would you recommend I try next?

W7 Cheeky Trio… Bronzer, Blusher, Highlighter Palette.

Hello welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

Back in April I made a small purchase of a few W7 products from Fragrance Direct, you can see which products I bought HERE. I’ve already written a review of the In The Mood Palette HERE. So today I shall share with you my thoughts of the Cheeky Trio Palette.

W7closed

The packaging for this cheeky trio is so pretty, its a pink ombre tin with the branding in gorgeous gold.

W7open

Inside the tin there are 3 really good-sized products, bronzer, blusher and highlighter. I love how each product have the wave pattern within them. Let’s start with the bronzer. It’s a really nice matte bronzer so great for contouring, it’s nicely pigmented and easily buildable to the intensity you want. It lasted a fair while on my skin and it didn’t turn orange. The blusher is  one of the prettiest pink shades of blusher I’ve seen, it’s gorgeous and I use this more than any other at the moment. It’s a good pigment and payoff on the skin and it blends really nicely too, it gives my cheeks a rosy glow that lasts for a few hours. Meanwhile the highlighter just didn’t do anything for me. There is no payoff, It wouldn’t pick up on my brush and there is no sheen to it at all. I know that I shall definitely use the bronzer and blusher, but the highlighter will remain in the tin un-touched. Check out W7 on Fragrance Direct HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

MUA Makeup Academy Devotion Palette….

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

This is a fairly new palette to MUA Makeup Academy and it’s right up my street as far as the colours within it are concerned. This is the Devotion Palette for eyes and face.

MuaDevotion4

I was really surprised when this came through the post along with a few other MUA products, as the company sent them to me as a birthday gift back in April. Thank you so much MUA!

MuaDevotion1

The Devotion palette is the perfect mix of 10 matte, shimmer and metallic eyeshadows. It’s multi-formula meaning everything can be used on the face and eyes, and as you can see this palette has a brush for application rather than the usual sponge applicator. I didn’t think that I would use the brush but, I have been. I use it to apply matte eyeshadow into the crease of my eyes and taking it above to try and make my eyes less hooded.

MuaDevotion2

These eyeshadows are lovely and pigmented and they blend really well too. They are buildable to the intensity of colour you want, and it’s perfect for all skin tones.

MuaDevotion3

The two large pans of colour in the palette are metallic cream which can be used as highlighters for the face and as a base for eyeshadows, they can also be used on their own as eyeshadow. Used on their own, they give the eyes a beautiful gloss, making them look awake. If you have oily lids though there might be a problem with them creasing, so it would be a good idea to use a primer first. This is a very pretty eye and face palette, one I think I shall be using quite a bit over the coming weeks into Summer, and it’s a bargain at just £5.00 HERE.

Sorry there are no swatches at the moment, the light took a turn for the worse and we couldn’t get decent photos, but as soon as they are available I’ll update this post.
