B. Skincare Cooling and Soothing Mask

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Yes, I’m that age now when I’m using skincare for menopausal skin, skincare that’s created for late 50’s and beyond, and right now I’m not coping very well with the ageing process, I basically feel like crap! But thank goodness my skin can look alright with the help of some gorgeous B. Skincare which is available from Superdrug on the High Street or online. This is the B. Nourished Cooling and Soothing Mask.

There’s some pretty nice ingredients in the mask, including, Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Sweet Almond Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, to name just a few.

My oh my I have enjoyed using this product! It does what it says on the tube, it’s so cooling on my skin. I suffer from redness on my chin and cheeks but once I apply this it calms the areas of redness considerably. It makes my skin look and feel smoother, and I think it mattifies my skin too, so I don’t look like a hot mess all the time. It applies to the skin like a dream and sinks in perfectly. I actually don’t know why it’s called a “mask” because you apply it and leave it on the skin. I press it onto my face so that the product delivers all the moisture into my skin. During the day, I can apply my foundation over the top, the mask acts like the perfect primer due to the mattifying properties, and keeps me moisturised for up to 12 hours! At night after cleansing, I apply a generous amount, after a few minutes I massage the excess into my skin and leave overnight. The following morning, perfect smooth hydrated skin.

Right now when you shop at Superdrug, there is a Better than half price on selected B. Skincare, and the Cooling and Soothing Mask is included in the offer, at just £4.45 reduced from the normal price of £8.99. HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Optimum PhytoFreeze Instant Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty my lovelies..

I’ve the second Optimum PhytoFreeze product to share with you today, it’s the eye cream and I have to say it’s my favourite of the two that I was sent to review.

optimumphytofreezeeyecream

An eye cream that offers an “instant anti-wrinkle effect, helping to tighten the skin and give an instant lifting effect” It contains a unique active ingredient called Vin-upLift, and based on Swiss Ice Wine which has been produced from naturally frozen grapes, it’s very rich in certain sugars and polysaccharides which is meant to give instant lift and moisture to the skin. The grapes are harvested from Swiss vineyards and are picked by hand after the first fall of snow in Winter when the grapes have been frozen on the vine. Other ingredients added into the eye cream are Olive Oil which helps protect the skin from premature aging and also nourishes the skin around the eye area. Vitamin E is in there too, to help protect the skin from environmental damage.

I’m a huge eye cream fan, always on the lookout for something to keep the eye area smooth and wrinkle free. To be honest at nearly 57 years old I really don’t have to worry about many wrinkles. I don’t know if that’s down to good genes or great skincare, maybe a bit of both. I love the delivery system on the Optimum PhytoFreeze Anti Wrinkle eye cream, it’s a very cooling metal applicator which you may use to apply the cream and smooth over the eye area. I applied eye cream after cleansing and moisturising which is the way I like to use all my eye products. I applied to my under eye area using the metal applicator at first just to get the soothing cooling effect it gives me, I then patted the excess cream using my ring finger  outwards towards my temple. I also applied in an upwards direction to my brow bone, hoping to get “a lift” from the slight droop I have which causes “hooded eyelids” The eye cream applies beautifully when patted into the skin, not so much when being smoothed over as it tends to roll off in tiny clumps. After a while I noticed that my “hoods” did appear slightly lifted though, I could see more of my eyelids when looking straight into the mirror. Applying foundation and concealer over the top of the eye cream is best left until it has sunk into the skin for 10 minutes or so, as again it rolls off, and I also think it’s best to blend foundation and concealer using a brush.

I have enjoyed using this eye cream for its richness and hydration it gives my under eyes, and how bright, refreshed and smooth they look too. Right now at Superdrug there is a 2 for £12 on selected Optimum PhytoFreeze also Better than 1/2 price on selected Optimum and Free Versace Fragrance when you buy 2 selected skin products. You can find these fantastic offers HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today my lovelies, see you again soon..

Optimum PhytoFreeze by Superdrug.. Face and Neck Cream.

Hiya lovelies, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty!

I have written a few reviews on Superdrug’s own range of  science based skincare, Optimum, and January saw the launch of their new PhytoFreeze Face & Neck Cream and Eye Cream. These two products offer an “instant anti-wrinkle effect, helping to tighten the skin and give an instant lifting effect” They both contain a unique active ingredient called Vin-upLift, and based on Swiss Ice Wine which has been produced from naturally frozen grapes, it’s very rich in certain sugars and polysaccharides which is meant to give instant lift and moisture to the skin. The grapes are actually harvested from Swiss vineyards and are picked by hand after the first fall of snow in Winter when the grapes have been frozen on the vine. Okay, so that’s the “science” bit, what did I think to the products? I’ll start with the Face and Neck Cream!

optimumphytofreeze

Firstly, can I just say that I love the pretty pink/purple packaging! I also love that this cream has a pump-action delivery system, so you get just the right amount you need to use. There is beautiful Shea Butter in the face and neck cream, which helps with softening and conditioning of the skin, Vitamin E is also present to help protect the skin from environmental damage which would lead to premature aging of the skin. There is a lovely fresh fragrance to it, not heavy or synthetic at all.

So did it deliver an instant effect? For me not right away, my skin certainly wasn’t lifted instantly, although there was instant smoothness and hydration from just the one pump worth that I massaged using upward and outward motion to help with the lifting effect. I used another one pump worth to massage upwards on my neck and decollete. Again the smoothness and hydration I got from the cream to that area is lovely. For me, the lifting effect wasn’t instant. Now, after a few weeks of using the Face and Neck cream my skin is definitely firmer looking and my neck is a lot less saggy looking. Out of all the Optimum products I’ve tried, this is my favourite for sure.

Just a quick word about using this cream under makeup. I found applying foundation straight away I got a bit of “roll off” where the product collected into little balls leaving my face looking patchy. I now apply my foundation after leaving the cream to sink in for about 15 minutes, now I don’t have a problem.

At Superdrug the Optimum PhtytoFreeze Face and Neck Cream is normally £14.99, right now there is an offer of 2 for  £12.00 on selected Optimum PhytoFreeze products. HERE.

Superdrug Optimum PhytoHydrate Day Cream

Hello my loves!

Today I’m sharing with you a day cream  from the Superdrug own brand, Optimum PhytoHydrate, with Birch water. Birch water comes from the sap of the Nordic mature Silver Birch tree which is harvested in Springtime and is said to have hydrating and detoxifying properties. It’s  known to be particularly gentle and hydrating on skin that is prone to dehydration.

superdrugoptimumdaycream

This is a lovely day cream. I love the pump-action delivery system that gives you the correct amount needed for fantastic hydration. Not only is there the hydrating Birch water, it also contains gorgeous Shea Butter for smooth soft skin, with Vitamin E, Pro-Vitamin B5 in there too, to protect from environmental damage. I dispensed one pump to my fingers and the first thing I noticed was the lovely fresh natural fragrance, secondly the consistency, it’s thick but lightweight and creamy which my skin drank up and didn’t leave my skin sticky or tacky. After a few moments my skin felt soft and smooth and ready for makeup. I initially used my PhytoHydrate day cream at about 8am and by lunchtime my skin was still feeling soft and supple and hydrated, and by the time I was ready to do my night-time routine it was still feeling the same, with an SPF 15 this is a perfect daytime moisturiser for Winter, and it can also be used in your night-time skincare routine too.

I love the Superdrug Optimum skincare range, in fact to be honest I love all Superdrug own brand of skincare, and this new PhytoHydrate day cream with Birch water did not disappoint. If you fancy giving it a try, pop to your local Superdrug store, or click HERE.

Thank you for reading, lots of love.

Superdrug Optimum PhytoHydrate Micellar Tonic….

Hello lovelies!

Birch water is the new coconut water when it comes to hydrating ourselves, and Birch water is apparent in two new skin care products from the Superdrug Optimum PhytoHydrate range. The first of which I’m sharing with you today, it’s the Optimum PhytoHydrate Anti-Dehydrating Micellar Tonic.

Birch water? It comes from the sap of the Nordic mature Silver Birch tree which is harvested in Springtime and is said to have hydrating and detoxifying properties. It’s  known to be particularly gentle and very hydrating on skin that is prone to dehydration.

superdrugoptimummicellar

I have been using this Micellar Tonic for a few weeks and for me personally it’s hit and miss. It does smell delicious, and it’s a natural clean smell it has no added fragrance. I’ve always used a Micellar water to remove eye makeup but this one you have to avoid direct contact with the eyes, but me being me and NOT reading that, I used it on my eye makeup! It didn’t take all my mascara off and it did sting my eyes and that’s my fault NOT the product! When I used the Micellar Tonic to clean off my face makeup I noticed that it felt soapy on my skin, and looking closely in my mirror yes it did look soapy too. I carried on cleansing to remove the rest of my face makeup. Afterwards my skin did feel really clean and because of the “soapiness” I felt while using it I thought my skin would feel tight but it didn’t. However what I did feel was tacky, sticky feeling skin and I am so disappointed because I wanted to love this product like I’ve loved other Superdrug Optimum skincare products. But please remember my loves, this is just my own opinion of the product, it might be completely different for you. If you would like to check out the Optimum PhytoHydrate Anti-Dehydration Birch Water Micellar Tonic you will find it at your local Superdrug on the High Street or Superdrug online HERE.

Thank you stopping by today, I’ll have another Optimum PhytoHydrate product soon, a very lovely day cream.

*This product was sent to me for review*

September favourites!

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

So it’s that time of the month again, so to speak, time for another monthly favourites post where I share with you the products that I’ve been loving during September, I’ve new favourites and a rediscovered favourite and some that are always in my favourites posts. First up is my most repurchased product, ever and it’s a nail treatment.

IMG_8648

The Rimmel London Nail Rescue. I have used it for years, ever since I stopped wearing acrylic nails. It really has “rescued” my nails, I use it each time I do a manicure as my basecoat, but every couple of months I do use it as my treatment. If you would like to read how I do use it I have a review HERE.

IMG_8524

This  is the B.Skincare Restorative Facial Oil, I  rediscovered it this last month, and I’ve fallen in love all over again, it’s from Superdrug on the High Street and I think it’s fabulous, I do love facial oils! I only use it at night-time twice a week under my night cream when I feel my skin needs a bit of a “pick me up” You can check out my review HERE.

LeonHardy-vpEyeBrush

Next, I have an eyeshadow brush that I think is just about the prettiest I have ever seen! It’s filled with Swarovski crystals, yes REAL Swarovski crystal! I love it not just because it’s so pretty but also because it’s gorgeous to use, I love the weight, it’s so comfortable to hold. The bristle holds onto the product and then blends over the eye beautifully, a really superb eyeshadow brush! My review of this and four more makeup brushes is HERE. If you would like to see.

collectionconcealer

I really have found my new “hero” in a concealer. I was later than most people to discover the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer but now I’m so glad I have joined that party because it’s fantastic, and it will always be a repurchase for me that’s for sure. Check out my review HERE.

heavenskincaregold-open

Lastly my beautiful Gold Bee Venom Mask by Heaven Skincare! I have mentioned in previous posts that 80% of the products I review, I purchase myself while the other 20% I have had sent to me for review or I have won as prizes on Twitter. This was a prize that I won on Twitter in celebration of Heaven Skincare’s 21st Birthday. I was so overcome when I got that DM telling me that I was the Twitter winner, I did have a cry I shall admit. I never thought that I would ever be able to have something so luxurious, so prestigious in my life. I really am very lucky. I have reviewed the Gold Bee Venom Mask HERE.

So that’s what I’ve loved over the last month, thank you for stopping by today.

Optimum PhytoDeluxe Skincare…..

Hello and welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty

I was recently sent a day cream and night cream for reviewing on EAB, today I am sharing my thoughts. This is the newest of the Optimum skin care range at Superdrug and is ideal for those aged 40 plus. The Optimum PhytoDeluxe Indulgent Day Cream with SPF 15 and the Comforting Night Cream.

IMG_9005

The Optimum PhytoDeluxe Indulgent day cream is a luxurious lightweight cream with a pump-action delivery system. The ingredients within the cream make it luxurious, with Platinum particles which is a potent terapeptide and Black Diamond Truffle. The Black Diamond Truffle is known to have anti oxidant properties, brightens the skin tone and smooths and firms the skin. I’ve been using both creams in conjunction with my usual cleanser and toner, which is also a Superdrug own brand, for nearly 3 weeks and I’ve really enjoyed using them. I applied 2 pumps of the day cream, which has an SPF 15 all over my face, neck and decollatage massaging for about 2 minutes. It sinks in beautifully and leaves my skin ready for makeup, there’s no stickiness at all. After a couple of days of using the day cream I noticed little change in my skin, apart from looking a bit brighter. After 2 weeks daily use. I’ve noticed that it is plumper, smoother and has more luminosity. I have a vertical line appearing above my left eye and it’s now less noticeable! For a 55-year-old Grandmother I don’t have a lined and crepey neckline and decollatage because I’ve always made sure it’s moisturised every day and night, but I do have redness on the decollatage area and that is now diminished considerably since using this day cream. A really luxurious cream at a high street price.

IMG_9230

The Comforting Night Cream has the same Black Diamond Truffle and Platinum complex as the day cream, and as this is a night cream its richer than the day cream with Shea Butter to give the skin a really indulgent overnight treatment. It absorbs quickly into the skin when applied, and again there is no stickiness. As with the day cream I applied the night cream to my face, neck and decollatage. The following morning my skin felt nourished, soft and smooth and it looked more radiant too. In essence this pair of beauties is a perfect combination for the mature skin, and it’s a luxury product at high street price of just £14.99 each. Right now at Superdrug they are on special offer of buy one get one FREE Mix and Match on selected Superdrug products, both in store and online HERE

MUA Makeup Academy Metallic Liquid Lipstick….

Hello loves. Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty

I’ve a couple of MUA Makeup Academy Metallic Liquid Lipsticks I’m sharing with you today, they very kindly put a couple in for me to try along with the gorgeous goodies for my MUA Giveaway which is over on Twitter HERE  The packaging is like that of a lip gloss with a sponge doe foot applicator, and I do love the pretty metal looking bronze coloured top with the branding in black.

IMG_8841

 shade BLAZE

IMG_8851

 shade BEDAZZLE

They do look very similar, but believe me when they are on the lips they are different colours. The liquid lipsticks are from the Luxe range from MUA, and to be honest I was wary about trying these two colours. I don’t do berry colours on my lips at all, I always thought that they didn’t suit me at the age I am now. But, because of the sheen or gloss, they did suit me and will be my go to lipsticks this Autumn and Winter season. They apply like a dream and are very pigmented and creamy. I could feel the tiny glitter particles slightly but it’s not uncomfortable, and after a while it’s not noticeable anyway. It’s the glitter particles that’s giving the liquid lipstick it’s metallic sheen which is very pretty, and I find it quite flattering for me personally. They also smell rather delicious too, of vanilla. How long is the wearability? Pretty good actually, it lasted on my lips for quite a few hours even with the copious amount of coffee I drink during the day.

FotorCreated

The beautiful opaque liquid lipsticks come in 7 glorious shades, and there are a few more I want to get myself. They are a beautiful bargain at just £4.00 HERE or your local High Street Superdrug, and Superdrug online HERE

My Giveaway has now ended.

My Most Repurchased Product……

Hello lovelies and welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty

I have been writing product reviews on my blog for nearly 3 years now, and even before I started I have been using this product that I’m going to share with you today.

IMG_8648

I think it must be 7 years maybe more that I gave up wearing acrylic nails, I used to do them myself at home. Then one day I just decided to remove them for good. My natural nails underneath were in a heck of a state! They had length but they were very weak dry and peeling, and paper thin. I cut them right down, filed them into my perfect shape and gave them a good soak and massage with the nail oil that came with my acrylics kit. They grew pretty quickly but they were still breaking and peeling. So I went into our local  chemist shop and picked up the Rimmel Nail Nurse Nail Rescue, and the rest, as they say is history. I’ve never looked back, 7 years later I still buy it over and over.

The Nail Nurse Nail Rescue is a treatment to be used over 14 days to begin with. Just paint onto clean unpolished nails every day for the first seven days. You now have 7 coats of the treatment on the nails. On the 8th day remove the product from the nails, and repeat the process for another 7 days. Even during the first week of using I noticed my nails beginning to look pinker and the tips whiter, and they were definitely growing stronger too. By the end of the 14 days I had the best nails I’d had for years! You do have to be strong and not be tempted to put on colour while using the treatment, but it’s worth it. I do still have myself a weekly treatment every now and then with the Nail Rescue, I apply it every day for 7 days without colour and it’s keeping my nails strong and long with no peeling at all, AND I always use it as a base coat to my manicure when I add colour.

I rarely recommend products that I review on EAB, because everyone is different. But this is one product that I would recommend, highly. It has worked on my once paper thin and peeling nails, it’s my hero product for the last 7 years or so AND it’s my MOST repurchased product. If you want to try it for yourself you can get it from Superdrug online HERE for just £4.49 or any High Street shop.

Thank you for stopping by today my loves.

B Skincare Restorative Facial Oil…

Hi again lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

Today I’ve a facial oil for you. It’s the B Skincare Restorative Facial Oil that was sent to me for review.

IMG_8524

Firstly, spot the un- deliberate mistake. When I gave Mark the product to photograph I gave him the wrong box! The box for the facial oil isn’t exactly the same as the one showing, but it’s all about the oil and not the box it comes in, isn’t it?

So on with talking about this delicious facial oil. Firstly, it’s in a glass bottle and dispensed via a pipette dropper which I love. It has a very subtle rose fragrance which is due to the blend of Rosehip with Argan and Shea butter. These three combined within the rich oil help with the firmness and radiance of the skin. There is also something called Crambe seed oil in the product which helps calm and comfort the skin by providing up to 12 hours hydration. It contains high levels of Vitamin C which is helping to maintain the skins radiance and protects from dryness.

It’s best to use the oil at night as part of your bedtime routine for a really pampering overnight treatment for your skin. After cleansing and toning, I warm 2/3 drops of the oil in the palms of my hands. But before I apply to my face I always seem to breathe in the fragrance first, then I lay my hands onto my face to “push” the oil into my skin. I then massage my face for about 3 minutes and finish my routine with my night cream.

I’ve been using my B. Skincare Restorative Facial Oil every night for 2 months and I can honestly say that the morning after, my skin looks fantastic. It feels very soft, smooth and hydrated, and glowing too. I am loving using it, a lot! There is 30 ml of glorious oil in the bottle which will last for ages, It’s got a 12 month shelf life once open. As with all B. Skincare products it’s not tested on animals and it’s perfect for Vegan and vegetarians to use too. It’s just £7.99 in store at Superdrug or online HERE

Thank you for stopping by today.

Superdrug Vitamin E Skincare…..

Hello loves, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I’ve got a bit of skin care to share with you today. I’ve been wanting to try a cleansing oil for a while now having been inspired by my lovely twitter chum and beauty blogger/vlogger Rougepout Beauty  I didn’t want to splash out on product that might not be for me so I had a look at what Superdrug had to offer. They didn’t let me down, I found a cleansing oil in the Vitamin E range of Superdrug’s own brand. I hadn’t tried anything from their Vitamin E range so I was killing two birds with one stone now.

IMG_8417

I picked up the Vitamin E Dual Phase Cleansing Oil and the Refreshing Toning Mist to go with it. When I bought these two products I thought that the cleansing oil would be the kind that you massage into your face add a touch of water so that it goes slightly “milky” and then you would wash away with a flannel. But this cleansing oil you don’t. More about that in a moment.

The cleansing oil, as the name suggests is a dual phase, containing a Multivitamin complex and horse-chestnut to help care for dry skin. There is also an Antioxidant protection within it to help keep out damage from the environment. It’s contained in a plastic bottle and is dispensed via a flip top cap underneath the bottle top, you have to guess how much to use as there is no “stop” on the cap. So how do you use the Dual Phase Cleansing Oil? Firstly give it a good shake to amalgamate the two liquids, then immediately pour onto a cotton pad and smooth over the face and neck. I turned the pad over applied some more cleansing oil and swept it over my face again. It took off my makeup and left me with a lovely clean face, it felt soft and hydrated. It also removed my mascara too, but I did have to give it a couple of swipes to make sure all my lashes were mascara free. The cleansing oil didn’t sting my eyes at all either, and hopefully with continued use the oil will condition my lashes a bit. You get 150ml of product for £2.99 at Superdrug.

To use with my cleansing oil I also picked up the Vitamin E Refreshing Toning Mist. This is nice! I love the spray applicator for a wonderful refreshing spritz over the face after cleansing. It’s quite powerful coming out of the bottle and if you don’t aim properly, can soak you a tad! You can also spray the toner onto a cotton pad and apply it to your face that way too. This is Multivitamin packed! Vitamin E, A, B, and F are within this lovely toner, and  along with horse-chestnut helps to look after my dry skin. I’ve been using the toner morning and night, and it’s not at all drying on my skin, it has revitalised it, it’s looking fresh and glowing too. A really lovely toner. You get 150ml of product for just £2.99 at Superdrug. HERE
