A Small Essence Haul from Wilko…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Mark and I just had to get into the car and get out for a while on Sunday, after we had a really rubbish week. I wanted to purchase a few Essence cosmetics goodies from Wilko online but because the rubbish week was down to a bit of online fraud on Mark’s bank account we decided to go to our nearest Wilko store instead, safer that way.

I did write myself a list of Essence products I wanted but only managed to get a few from said list, our local store didn’t have everything in, but what I did buy I was happy with. I’ll be writing reviews on EAB soon.

I’m really looking forward to trying the Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Foundation & Concealer, will I still need my concealer? We’ll see, and I will get back to you, soon  It was only £3.80. I’ve always wanted to try a lip oil, and when I saw this one by Essence I thought that I’d give it a go. I’ve no idea what a lip oil is for, does it colour, does it condition, does it hydrate? I’ll get back to you on that. The lip oil was just £2.00. I have wanted to try an Essence mascara for ages, especially one that claims to give “extreme volume and curl” my eyelashes or rather the state of them is really depressing me. I’d give my right arm to be able to go and get eyelash extensions done but until my numbers come up in the Lotto I shall keep on looking for my holy grail mascara. Could this be the one? I’ll let you know. The Essence False Lashes mascara is £2.80. I hate my lips as much as I do my eyelashes! If I could afford lip fillers I wouldn’t hesitate in getting them done! So until I do get that big Lotto cheque it’s lip plumping products for me! I picked up the Essence Volume On! lip plumping lipgloss, it’s a pretty nude peach shade, so I’ll give it a go and get back to you with my thoughts. The Essence Volume On! lip plumping lipgloss is £2.30 and finally I picked up a Nail Caring Oil it contains Apricot oil so I’m looking forward to trying that too. I’m in the middle of trialing some nail products at the moment, so I’ll let you know what the Essence product is like, soon. The Essence Nail Caring Oil is just £2.00.

I purchased my Essence products from my local Wilko stores but you can purchase online from Wilko too, HERE or from the Essence website HERE

Thank you for reading, I’ll be back soon with my thoughts on my Essence purchases.

Feeling the Heat with MUA Makeup Academy… Fire Vixen Eyeshadow Palette

Welcome my lovelies to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

A lot of bloggers have been getting hot under the collar over the new eye shadow palette to be released by Urban Decay, Naked Heat. I am not able to purchase a palette with  that price tag at the moment, so I decided to treat myself to one of the newest palettes that MUA Makeup Academy have released, and it’s just as “hot” this is the Fire Vixen Palette.

This palette is going to take me through the rest of Summer through to Autumn, Winter and all over the Christmas holidays with these 15 buttery soft glorious eye shadow shades!

Aren’t these colours just fabulous? From pretty nude shades, to bronze, copper, burnt orange and a gorgeous cranberry red, with grey’s and silver and different shades of pink, and 8 of the colours are Matte! The colours that I used on myself (and to be honest I think I will use them more than others in the palette) are the first one on the top row, the cream all over my lid and up to the brow, the fourth one along also top row I applied to the mobile lid, and the last matte shade on the top row I blended into the crease and slightly above to actually give myself the look of a lesser hooded eye. They blend out so beautifully too, this is a gorgeous palette and one I feel I shall be using rather a lot.

You can check this and other such gorgeousness from MUA Makeup Academy HERE.

Matte Soft Focus Eyeshadow Palette from MUA Makeup Academy…

Hello beauty lovers, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty Blog.

I thought today I would share with you a pretty eyeshadow palette from the fabulous MUA Makeup Academy. This is the Matte Soft Focus Palette.

Please just feast your eyes on the prettiness of the colours in this palette! It’s perfect for Spring/Summer I think, soft matte pastel and neutral shades will suit all skin tones, and they are all encased in the MUA standard black packaging, with the double ended sponge applicator.

The 12 powder eyeshadows are all so creamy soft and blendable,   I didn’t find them chalky at all. Although I can see why the palette is called “Soft Focus” the eyeshadows are muted when applied to the eyelids, but then they can be built up to the intensity you want. When I tried these out for reviewing here on my blog, I did one eye with an eye primer and one without. I did find the colours applied more intensely to the primed eye lid, more of the pigment showed through. For last-ability? I wore the eyeshadows all day, it did fade but some colour did remain behind.

On the reverse of the palette you will find the names of all the shades, which is what I love about MUA, they don’t give you a silly sheet of acetate with names of shades printed on, that inevitably always gets misplaced. So from the top left is Delicate, next Balmy, Faint, Gentle, Dainty, lastly Misty. On the bottom row from left is Subdued, Tender, Muted, Tinted, Mellow, and lastly is Whisper. A really lovely eyeshadow palette and only £4.00 Here.

MUA have recently launched some beautiful new lipsticks, I’m off for a peruse, hopefully I can find something to suit me and I can bring you that soon as poss. Thank you for stopping by today.

A Trio of MUA Makeup Academy Pretties!

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

A couple of weeks ago I had a trip to our local Superdrug and treated my self to a few goodies, three of which are from MUA Makeup Academy, my favourite budget makeup brand.

I will be writing separate reviews on each of the products, but for now I’m just sharing with you the products I purchased. If you have these, I’d love to know your thoughts too. I’m nosy like that.

At the top there you can see that I have a really pretty eye shadow palette from MUA. Really lovely shades that are perfect for the Summer months, and they are ALL matte eyeshadows too, that’s a result. This is the Matte Soft Focus Eyeshadow Palette. I’ll have a review of the palette soon on EAB.

Next is a product that I have been after for ages, it’s the Custom Colour Foundation Mixer, in the shade Lightening, Cool. I’ve got a few foundations that I can’t use as they are too dark for me, so when I saw MUA had launched this product into their range I was so happy. I will have a review of the foundation mixer coming up soon.

Lastly, this lip gloss intrigued me. It’s from the MUA Luxe range and it’s called Unique Lip Gloss. This is what MUA says “Apply this pH reactive lip gloss to your lips for your personalised shade. Upon application the formula adapts to your natural pH to create a bespoke subtle pink shade.” I will of course get back to you when I’ve used it a few times and let you know if it does work. There might even be a pic of my lips! yes I’m getting daring aren’t I? But I feel that with a product like this I have to do it.

Okay beauties, I’ll be back soon with reviews on these three products. In the meantime if you would like to check them out for yourself the link to MUA Makeup Academy is HERE. Also Superdrug too is HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Ellora Beauty…… Intensive Eye Contour Serum

Hi loves, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I’ve another lovely natural skincare product from Ellora Beauty to share with you. This is the Intensive Eye Contour Serum. I love eye creams, especially those that say they are brightening like this one claims to do, but did it? Please read on….

Yet another incredibly lovely Ellora Beauty product that I’ve enjoyed trialling. At first I wasn’t so sure but the more I’ve used it the more I grew to love it. It’s a great size 15ml with a pump-action delivery system which I love, you get the correct amount of product to use, well normally anyway. I’ll explain more in just a moment. The ingredients within this eye serum are all in there to create a powerful treatment for the eye area. There’s  Swiss Apple Stem Cells, Vitamins, Mountain Tea, Damask Rose and Oat Extracts, Almond, Olive, Avocado and Borage Oils, and also an ingredient called BEAUTIFYE which I did have to research as I have never heard of it, and it’s basically  “the first active ingredient in the cosmetics industry that demonstrates a lifting action on sagging upper eyelids” says google. So there you go. The Ellora Intensive Eye Contour Serum is more like a cream in consistency and it’s white in colour, rather than a clear product.

I used the eye serum morning and night to trial it and used one full pump worth between both eyes. I used it all around the contour of each eye, and as I suffer from hooded eyelids that have occurred naturally through the aging process, I worked the serum upwards and outwards over the sagging part of my upper eyes, the brow bone area in effect. It feels so rich when applying, very cooling, very hydrating and made my eyes feel very awake (that’s a lot of very’s) After a few days and nights use I noticed that I was “breaking out” just under my eyebrows where I had place the serum to help lift the area. Not a problem, I figured that it was a little too rich for me so I just used less of the serum, after a day or so, the spots went and carried on using the serum but applied less of the product.

The Ellora Beauty Intensive Eye Contour Serum is a lovely product, I’ve enjoyed using it over the past few weeks and yes I have noticed the effectiveness of it. It does give a slight lift to my sagging eyebrow area, I can see a little more of my eyelid when looking in a mirror, but mainly it has given me intense hydration, smoothed out my lines and my eye area is looking a lot brighter and more awake. The little bit of darkness and puffiness that I have is diminished.

Sounds good doesn’t it? If you would like to give it a go yourself, you can find it HERE.

Ellora Beauty has given me a 10% discount code to share with you, just use ELEGANTAGELESSBEAUTY  at the checkout.

Thank you for stopping by and reading today.

A Few Empties, A Few Fails….

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty

I’ve got a few products to share with you that I’ve finished up and also a couple of “fails” as well, just a couple of things that I never really got on with in the long run. Let me start with the products that I’ve used up, and I’ve loved using every one of these products.

The Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser. Wow what an incredible cleanser this is. I have loved using it, mainly as my morning cleanse because the fragrance and the cooling sensation on the skin really wakens up the senses, plus gives an incredible deep cleanse and with the tiny Moor mud particles within, it’s a great exfoliating cleanser and readies the skin for other products/treatments. There is a full review HERE.

My last Empties post I had the Heaven Skincare Afternoon Tea Hand and Body Wash, now amongst my empties it pains me to say I have the matching Hand and Body Lotion all used up. I have loved using the lotion, so rich and creamy without stickiness and with a fragrance like no other, it literally brought Summer to my bathroom. It has been my handcream of choice when my hands have needed a bit of extra hydration too. I do have a full review HERE.

The wonderful Heaven Skincare Silver Bee Venom Mask is all used up too now. I have used this as an overnight mask, as a daytime moisturiser under makeup, and it’s the one face product that can be used right up to under the eyes without needing an eye cream. I’ve massaged my lips with it. This wonderful skincare product hydrates plumps and nourishes my skin, and I’m sorry that it’s all used up now, but I’m not crying too hard I still have my gold bee venom mask yet! There is a review if you would like to read it, just HERE.

As hard as I pump the pump on my beautiful epiSpa Organic Illuminating Eye Cream, I just cannot get anymore product out! This has been my go to eye cream when I wear a full face of makeup which included under eye concealer. I just found it perfect for brightening my under eyes without horrid glitter particles, my concealer never creases when I use this, and the skin under my eyes stays supple and hydrated too. My review is HERE.

So there has been a couple of “fails” I want to share with you too, those products that for me don’t draw me to reach for them on a regular basis.

Unfortunately The W7 In the Mood eye shadow palette looks gorgeous on the outside it looks like it’s going to be amazing when you look inside, but when using the eyeshadows I got nothing out of it, or it was hard work to use. The colours are lovely and right up my street, but pigment was just off and when I did get some colour payoff it was quite chalky and had some fallout. I liked this palette when I first got it, but having used it a few times, I realised that it’s not for me. My original review is HERE.

Yes you may be a little surprised to see an MUA Makeup Academy product here in my fails, regular readers will know that MUA are my favourite budget make up brand. But honestly I did love the Matte Perfect Primer for a while and it did the job, but after some time of using it I was getting breakouts on my chin, it was almost like the primer was clogging up my pores. It’s a lovely product of course it is, but it wasn’t for me unfortunately. I have had to swap to another  MUA primer instead now. If you would like to see my review of the Matte Perfect primer you can find it HERE.

Makeup Revolution Renaissance Palette…Daytime

So Mark surprised me with a little Superdrug delivery last week and one of the products inside was this smashing palette by Makeup Revolution, this is the Renaissance Palette, Daytime.

A cute little compact sized palette in a pretty cream with rose gold hard wear, and the palette itself is shrouded in a cream velour pouch which is snuggled in a cream and gold  box. Now the photos have been taken I wont keep my palette in the box or pouch, the box will go into the recycling bin, and the pouch I’m keeping in my handbag for when I’m out and about, sometimes I get the urge to have to remove the jewellery I’m wearing that day, and it was always like searching an abyss in my hand bag to retrieve earrings so now I can just pop them in the little pouch should the urge take me! Anyway I digress, what did I think of the Renaissance Palette?

The palette is as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside. The five neutral eyeshadows are sitting in a bed of gold, and are a really good size individually. The first shade is a cream coloured shimmer shade for highlighting the eye the others are all matte eyeshadows. There’s a double ended applicator laying to the front of the palette, this time it’s brushes on both ends instead of the usual sponge applicator. The eyeshadows themselves are as you would expect from Makeup Revolution, lovely and buttery soft and so easy to blend. I got a little fall out from the darkest shade when putting under my lower lashes, but a quick swipe with a fluffy brush and it’s soon sorted.

The Renaissance Palette Daytime is just what it says it is, perfect for your natural daytime look, and there’s one for night time too, with both just £8.00 each on TAM Beauty website HERE. If you aren’t in the UK, TAM Beauty does ship internationally. If you are in the UK you can also buy from Superdrug online HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today, I shall be back soon to share a few more colour cosmetics products with you. I feel like it’s been an absolute age since I had some makeup reviews here on EAB so I must rectify that.

See you soon.

My March Favourites!

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty my lovelies!

So here we are at the start of a new month, and at last it’s Springtime for us in the UK, and April is my birthday month too. I thought today I would share some products that I’ve loved in the month of March.

I have been feeling pretty down about things over the last few weeks and because of that my skin hasn’t been at it’s best. But I just give myself a 5 minute treatment using my Heaven Skincare Bee Peel and it looks and feels so much better. It looks a lot brighter, enlarged pores are less noticable and certainly a lot smoother looking. If you would like to see my full review of Heaven Skincare Bee Peel click HERE I’ll leave links at the end of this post to where you can purchase all my favourite products from.

I have had this palette from Makeup Revolution for ages and I decided to get it out for a play a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve not put it away again since. I’ve really enjoyed my Flawless palette, it’s a lovely mix of matte and shimmer powder eye shadows in a huge 32 pan palette, it’s gorgeous. If you would like to read a review you can find it HERE.

This amazing Moor cream cleanser  from Omorovicza is also fantastic to use as a deep cleansing mask. I massage the cleanser over my skin and leave it to sink in for about 15 minutes, then wash of with a face cloth. It really is so refreshing and cleansing and it’s going to be a favourite for a while. I have a full review HERE.

This is a gorgeous nude lipstick from Essence, it’s from the long lasting range in the shade number 26 and  called All Time Favourite. I haven’t written a review yet, there will be one coming soon however so I hope you will look out for that.

I feel like this Rose blusher from Milani is nearly always in my favourites posts, but I do love it and it’s my go to blusher, for being highly pigmented and matte which I love. You can read my review to see why I love it HERE

So that’s my March favourites, and I shall leave links below of where to shop for them if you fancy them for yourself. Wishing you a beautiful April!

Optimum PhytoFreeze Instant Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty my lovelies..

I’ve the second Optimum PhytoFreeze product to share with you today, it’s the eye cream and I have to say it’s my favourite of the two that I was sent to review.

optimumphytofreezeeyecream

An eye cream that offers an “instant anti-wrinkle effect, helping to tighten the skin and give an instant lifting effect” It contains a unique active ingredient called Vin-upLift, and based on Swiss Ice Wine which has been produced from naturally frozen grapes, it’s very rich in certain sugars and polysaccharides which is meant to give instant lift and moisture to the skin. The grapes are harvested from Swiss vineyards and are picked by hand after the first fall of snow in Winter when the grapes have been frozen on the vine. Other ingredients added into the eye cream are Olive Oil which helps protect the skin from premature aging and also nourishes the skin around the eye area. Vitamin E is in there too, to help protect the skin from environmental damage.

I’m a huge eye cream fan, always on the lookout for something to keep the eye area smooth and wrinkle free. To be honest at nearly 57 years old I really don’t have to worry about many wrinkles. I don’t know if that’s down to good genes or great skincare, maybe a bit of both. I love the delivery system on the Optimum PhytoFreeze Anti Wrinkle eye cream, it’s a very cooling metal applicator which you may use to apply the cream and smooth over the eye area. I applied eye cream after cleansing and moisturising which is the way I like to use all my eye products. I applied to my under eye area using the metal applicator at first just to get the soothing cooling effect it gives me, I then patted the excess cream using my ring finger  outwards towards my temple. I also applied in an upwards direction to my brow bone, hoping to get “a lift” from the slight droop I have which causes “hooded eyelids” The eye cream applies beautifully when patted into the skin, not so much when being smoothed over as it tends to roll off in tiny clumps. After a while I noticed that my “hoods” did appear slightly lifted though, I could see more of my eyelids when looking straight into the mirror. Applying foundation and concealer over the top of the eye cream is best left until it has sunk into the skin for 10 minutes or so, as again it rolls off, and I also think it’s best to blend foundation and concealer using a brush.

I have enjoyed using this eye cream for its richness and hydration it gives my under eyes, and how bright, refreshed and smooth they look too. Right now at Superdrug there is a 2 for £12 on selected Optimum PhytoFreeze also Better than 1/2 price on selected Optimum and Free Versace Fragrance when you buy 2 selected skin products. You can find these fantastic offers HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today my lovelies, see you again soon..

Optimum PhytoFreeze by Superdrug.. Face and Neck Cream.

Hiya lovelies, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty!

I have written a few reviews on Superdrug’s own range of  science based skincare, Optimum, and January saw the launch of their new PhytoFreeze Face & Neck Cream and Eye Cream. These two products offer an “instant anti-wrinkle effect, helping to tighten the skin and give an instant lifting effect” They both contain a unique active ingredient called Vin-upLift, and based on Swiss Ice Wine which has been produced from naturally frozen grapes, it’s very rich in certain sugars and polysaccharides which is meant to give instant lift and moisture to the skin. The grapes are actually harvested from Swiss vineyards and are picked by hand after the first fall of snow in Winter when the grapes have been frozen on the vine. Okay, so that’s the “science” bit, what did I think to the products? I’ll start with the Face and Neck Cream!

optimumphytofreeze

Firstly, can I just say that I love the pretty pink/purple packaging! I also love that this cream has a pump-action delivery system, so you get just the right amount you need to use. There is beautiful Shea Butter in the face and neck cream, which helps with softening and conditioning of the skin, Vitamin E is also present to help protect the skin from environmental damage which would lead to premature aging of the skin. There is a lovely fresh fragrance to it, not heavy or synthetic at all.

So did it deliver an instant effect? For me not right away, my skin certainly wasn’t lifted instantly, although there was instant smoothness and hydration from just the one pump worth that I massaged using upward and outward motion to help with the lifting effect. I used another one pump worth to massage upwards on my neck and decollete. Again the smoothness and hydration I got from the cream to that area is lovely. For me, the lifting effect wasn’t instant. Now, after a few weeks of using the Face and Neck cream my skin is definitely firmer looking and my neck is a lot less saggy looking. Out of all the Optimum products I’ve tried, this is my favourite for sure.

Just a quick word about using this cream under makeup. I found applying foundation straight away I got a bit of “roll off” where the product collected into little balls leaving my face looking patchy. I now apply my foundation after leaving the cream to sink in for about 15 minutes, now I don’t have a problem.

At Superdrug the Optimum PhtytoFreeze Face and Neck Cream is normally £14.99, right now there is an offer of 2 for  £12.00 on selected Optimum PhytoFreeze products. HERE.

My 2016 Beauty Highlights!

Hello lovelies, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Welcome to the first Elegant Ageless Beauty of 2017..

I hope that those of you who celebrate it, all had a fabulous Christmas. For my first post of 2017 I thought that I would share with you what products I have really loved during 2016, and there are many to be honest, more skincare than makeup I reckon so here goes and I shall start with some makeup brushes.

LeonHardy-vpBrushSet

These absolutely stunning brushes are full of Swarovski crystals. By Leon Hardy and sent to me from Thomas Dittas to review, they are by far my favourite brushes. I love the way they look, the weight is perfect and because they aren’t too long means I can use my little magnifying mirror in my hand for close up application. If you would like to read my full review of these stunning brushes you can find it HERE.

heavenskincaregold-open

Winning Heaven Skincare Gold Bee Venom Mask in their 21st birthday competition was one of the best things that happened to me and my blog last year! I’ve used it many times since I’ve had it and my skin always looks fantastic afterwards and for a few days thereafter too. I think I’m the luckiest blogger to have won such a prestigious product. If you want to see my full, honest review, go HERE.

beepeel

Now this product, the Heaven Skincare Bee Peel was sent to me as a complete surprise. It arrived right out of the blue. It’s the newest of Heaven Skincare’s products, to exfoliate and resurface the look of the skin. It really is FABULOUS! Just look at the beautiful packaging too! If you would like to see my full review of the Bee Peel you can see it HERE.

BBBopen

So last April for my birthday, Jackie from Tam Beauty/Makeup Revolution very kindly gifted me the fantastic Fortune Favours The Brave eye shadow palette, which was created in collaboration with Jane Cunningham, British Beauty Blogger. I’ve used it such a lot over the year, and really enjoy it still. My full review is HERE.

omorviczabalm3

I dipped my toes into the cleansing balm water last year, thanks to my friend Kim who is Global Director of Spa Development at Omorovicza Cosmetics, and also beauty blogger at thefabcompany. Kim very kindly sent me a couple of wonderful products to try, one being this amazing Thermal Cleansing Balm from Hungarian brand Omorovicza. I absolutely adored using it and I’m hoping to be able to treat myself to another one. If you would like to read my review, which includes links to Kim’s blog too, click HERE.

ttmasksnowalgae3

Ahh, Timeless Truth sheet facial masks! A true obsession over the last year. With thanks to my friend Angela, I got to try out a lot of Timeless Truth masks, including the newest one. Snow Algae & Hyalauronic Bio Cellulose mask. I’ve tried a couple of sheet masks from another brand, but they just don’t match up to these, in my opinion. There’s a link HERE if you would like to see some reviews of all Timeless Truth masks I’ve tried.

Well, that’s some of my 2016 highlights in a nutshell, and I would just like to say a big thank you to all these amazing companies who have sent me such gorgeous products to try, and then to review them here on Elegant Ageless Beauty. I also want to say a massive thank you to all of you, if it wasn’t for you all reading my blog there would be no Elegant Ageless Beauty. THANK YOU!
