Matte Soft Focus Eyeshadow Palette from MUA Makeup Academy…

Hello beauty lovers, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty Blog.

I thought today I would share with you a pretty eyeshadow palette from the fabulous MUA Makeup Academy. This is the Matte Soft Focus Palette.

Please just feast your eyes on the prettiness of the colours in this palette! It’s perfect for Spring/Summer I think, soft matte pastel and neutral shades will suit all skin tones, and they are all encased in the MUA standard black packaging, with the double ended sponge applicator.

The 12 powder eyeshadows are all so creamy soft and blendable,   I didn’t find them chalky at all. Although I can see why the palette is called “Soft Focus” the eyeshadows are muted when applied to the eyelids, but then they can be built up to the intensity you want. When I tried these out for reviewing here on my blog, I did one eye with an eye primer and one without. I did find the colours applied more intensely to the primed eye lid, more of the pigment showed through. For last-ability? I wore the eyeshadows all day, it did fade but some colour did remain behind.

On the reverse of the palette you will find the names of all the shades, which is what I love about MUA, they don’t give you a silly sheet of acetate with names of shades printed on, that inevitably always gets misplaced. So from the top left is Delicate, next Balmy, Faint, Gentle, Dainty, lastly Misty. On the bottom row from left is Subdued, Tender, Muted, Tinted, Mellow, and lastly is Whisper. A really lovely eyeshadow palette and only £4.00 Here.

MUA have recently launched some beautiful new lipsticks, I’m off for a peruse, hopefully I can find something to suit me and I can bring you that soon as poss. Thank you for stopping by today.

A Trio of MUA Makeup Academy Pretties!

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

A couple of weeks ago I had a trip to our local Superdrug and treated my self to a few goodies, three of which are from MUA Makeup Academy, my favourite budget makeup brand.

I will be writing separate reviews on each of the products, but for now I’m just sharing with you the products I purchased. If you have these, I’d love to know your thoughts too. I’m nosy like that.

At the top there you can see that I have a really pretty eye shadow palette from MUA. Really lovely shades that are perfect for the Summer months, and they are ALL matte eyeshadows too, that’s a result. This is the Matte Soft Focus Eyeshadow Palette. I’ll have a review of the palette soon on EAB.

Next is a product that I have been after for ages, it’s the Custom Colour Foundation Mixer, in the shade Lightening, Cool. I’ve got a few foundations that I can’t use as they are too dark for me, so when I saw MUA had launched this product into their range I was so happy. I will have a review of the foundation mixer coming up soon.

Lastly, this lip gloss intrigued me. It’s from the MUA Luxe range and it’s called Unique Lip Gloss. This is what MUA says “Apply this pH reactive lip gloss to your lips for your personalised shade. Upon application the formula adapts to your natural pH to create a bespoke subtle pink shade.” I will of course get back to you when I’ve used it a few times and let you know if it does work. There might even be a pic of my lips! yes I’m getting daring aren’t I? But I feel that with a product like this I have to do it.

Okay beauties, I’ll be back soon with reviews on these three products. In the meantime if you would like to check them out for yourself the link to MUA Makeup Academy is HERE. Also Superdrug too is HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

A Load of Empties!…

Hello lovely people!

I have always thought that an empties post wouldn’t really work on my blog, it’s hard to make a bunch of empty products look pretty in a photo, but I’ve seen a few bloggers have done an “empties” blog post and it does work out for them, so I thought I might as well give it a go too then. Here goes!

This first of many empties from Heaven Skincare, was Mark’s favourite product from them, and I have to say that it is rather lovely as I did pinch it sometimes myself. It’s the M4M Anti Ageing Moisturiser for men. If you would like to read the full review you can find it HERE.

Another one of Mark’s favourites, and I could see why, I borrowed it to shave my legs and underarms and it really is lovely to use. My skin was so smooth and soft and wasn’t irritated at all. The full review is HERE.

This MUA Makeup Academy Lip Scrub with Vitamin E is another empty, and I’ve another one in my basket on the Superdrug website for a re-purchase. I just love it! I am never going to use another lip scrub. If you would like to see why I love it so much take a look at my full review HERE.

Two Heaven Skincare body products are all used up. I do have a little of the Afternoon Tea fragrance hand and body lotion left that I use solely on my hands now, I’d rather use whats left for my hand care because I love the way it makes my hands look and feel after using it. I’ve a full review if you wish to take a look HERE.

The Freedom Makeup Glycolic Glow Tonic, with Ginseng and Aloe Vera is almost all used up. I haven’t been using it every day since I got it, because it’s an exfoliant and I have been using it as well as other acid treatments. I shall be re-purchasing another bottle soon. You can read my full review HERE.

This Wonder Balm from Beauty Kitchen is a life saver for lips and cuticles in the harsh winter months. Containing cocoa butter it’s so moisturising as a lip balm, I used it every day throughout the day. If my cuticles needed a bit extra hydration this is all I used. I am so disappointed that I don’t have anymore left at the moment, but I shall be ordering some more. Read my full review HERE.

My most favourite of all my Heaven moisturisers was the gorgeous fruity creamy Divine Cream, I adored it, and was so disappointed to finish it up. I shall be treating myself to a small one, soon. You can see why I loved it HERE. Another Heaven empty is the New Edition Cream Cleanser, and I’m going to purchase one as soon as I can, it contains bee venom and can actually be used as a moisturiser too! I’ve a review HERE.

Thank you for reading, I shall be back soon with more new product reviews. I’m hoping to bring some makeup products to my blog very soon, just for a change.

January Favourites!

Hello lovelies! Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

So the first month of a new year has gone and we’re into February, I for one cannot wait for Spring, my favourite season. Just to have some bright light coming in through the windows would be oh so good! Not just for my sense of well-being but it would make the taking of photos for my blog so much easier too. Anyhow, I thought as it’s a new month I would share with you what I’ve loved through January. Let me start with some skincare.

beepeel

I am still enjoying my Heaven Skincare Bee Peel. I use it twice a week at night-time after cleansing, just leaving on my face for ten minutes before rinsing off, leaves my skin feeling fresher and softer, looking plumper and more radiant and enlarged pores appear lessened. AND, I have used the Bee Peel on my hands too! I shall tell you more about that in a later blog post. I have a review of Heaven Skincare Bee Peel HERE

IMG_3611

An oldie but a goodie! The wonderful MUA Makeup Academy Undressed palette has been my go to eyeshadow during January. When this palette was launched it was dubbed the perfect dupe for the Urban Decay original Naked palette. Many dupes have come after this one, but for me this MUA one is my favourite, and the best. If you would like to see my review you can find it HERE. You can purchase from HERE.

IMG_8851

MUA Makeup Academy’s Metallic Liquid Lips in the shade Bedazzle has been a big favourite over the last month. It’s moisturising and glossy for the colder months of Winter, and it’s super pigmented too. You can find more shades of Metallic Liquid Lips HERE,  and I also have a review HERE.

IMG_9277

This Wonder Balm from Beauty Kitchen has been a saviour of my nails and lips throughout the whole of the last year, not just the last month. I use it all the time, keeping it to hand everywhere I go. I use it as a lip balm to keep my lips from becoming dry and it’s fantastic to massage into my cuticles between manicures too. Find Beauty Kitchen HERE. And I have a review HERE.

The absolute highlight of January for me was becoming a winner! I won Heaven Skincare Best Blogger award at their annual awards event last Sunday 22nd January. Unfortunately Mark and I couldn’t attend the event in Birmingham, but when I found out I had won I was absolutely gobsmacked, shocked, humbled, and every positive emotion you can think of I felt it. I will be writing a blog post about winning my award because there are a few people I need to thank properly, and a separate post is needed for that.

Thank you for stopping by today my loves.

My Top 6 MUA Makeup Academy Products….

Hey lovelies, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

As regular readers of EAB might know, my favourite High Street budget makeup brand is the fabulous MUA Makeup Academy. Obviously I love them for  the price point of the products, but you also get great quality for such little money too. I thought that I would share with you my top 5 MUA products that I’ve been using for a long time or I’ve just found and been loving quite recently.

MuaMattePowder

The Skin Define Matte Perfect Loose Powder. This is a newer product in my makeup bag and I do use it every time I wear makeup. It really gives my skin the matte finish I like, it doesn’t clog up my pores and it’s nourishing with the Vitamins A and E, and Jojoba in there too. See my full review HERE

IMG_7920 (2)

The award winning Pro-Base Prime & Conceal. This is just fabulous! It’s got everything you need for colour correcting different areas of the face, it’s soft and creamy and blends beautifully. I’ve actually “hit pan” on the salmon pink shade now, it’s the one I use most of all. Click HERE for full review.

IMG_7681

The gorgeous Elysium eye shadow palette is my most reached for MUA palette. Gorgeous mix of shimmer and matte shades for a pretty daytime look, to the sexy sultry smokey eye for evenings out. If you would like to see my full review, please click HERE.

IMG_0316 (2)

For Spring and Summer time I’m loving a more natural look for my lips. For me there is nothing better than the Sweet Sheen Lip Balm in the shade Coral Reef. It’s just the right amount of colour and is super hydrating for the lips. You can see my full review HERE.

MuaLipScrub

I adore this lip scrub, I use it every night during my evening skincare routine. No more waking up with dry lips for me. It sloughs away all the dry skin and hydrates and conditions them with lovely Vitamin E. You can see my full review HERE.

MuaAvocadoMascara

The Eye Define Nourish & Care Volume Mascara is a new discovery for me and it’s now my favourite budget brand mascara. It’s so black, it volumises my eye lashes and it conditions too. The brush itself is perfect and grabs every lash for me. You can see my full review HERE.

MUA Makeup Academy Eye Define Nourish and Care Volume Mascara..

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty I’m Teresa.

When I first saw that MUA had launched a new volumising mascara I got rather excited, even more so when I found out that it contains Avocado Oil to help nourish and care for the eyelashes. I’ve been on a “spending ban” since January so I didn’t think I would be able to get this much wanted mascara for a while yet. But those gorgeous people at MUA Makeup Academy very kindly sent me one as a gift for my birthday back in April. This is the Eye Define Nourish and Care Volume Mascara.

MuaAvocadoMascara

I was so pleased that this mascara has a proper bristle brush, I don’t get on with the silicon ones very well, and the bristles on this wand are fantastic. They get right to the roots of my lashes, which are short through age, and it coats all of the lashes with product. I can actually feel the brush holding the lashes as I apply it.

It’s the blackest of black mascara, I have a solitary grey lash and it’s covered that. I always curl my eyelashes before applying mascara, and I sometimes find that mascara can weigh them down and they end up straight again, but I found that with the Nourish and Care mascara because the lashes remain soft not crispy and hard, they hold the curl for a longer time. It’s the avocado oil that gives the lashes the softness and nourishment, and it can also encourage them to grow too, although I’ve not noticed mine to be any longer, yet. I always apply 2/3 coats of mascara depending on if I’m staying home or not. I found that even with the 2 coats my lashes look fuller and much more noticeable and I like that a lot! This mascara is my new favourite High Street mascara, one that I shall re-purchase when my spending ban is lifted. At just £4.00 I think I might get two! You can purchase from Superdrug on the High Street or online and also from MUA HERE.

Lip Scrub from MUA Makeup Academy

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

When it comes to lip scrubs I’m not very consistent in using them. I have never purchased a lip scrub, but when I feel my lips need a bit of a scrub I’ve been making one in my kitchen from coconut oil and brown sugar, and very tasty it is too! And if there was any left over I would use it to massage my hands and nails!

MuaLipScrub

So when MUA Makeup Academy sent me their new Lip Scrub in a lovely package of goodies for my birthday last month I was just a bit happy and couldn’t wait for Mark to do his magic with the camera so that I could start using it! This is a lip scrub in the form of a bullet just like your average lipstick, maybe a little bit chunkier than your average lipstick. It contains Vitamin E to add moisture.

I’ve been using this every morning during my skincare routine, I use it after toning and before moisturiser, and that’s working for me. I then take the lip scrub and in circular motions I apply to the lips for a few moments, taking it over the lip line. It’s not too rough, and I’m not overly sure what the exfoliation ingredients are but I noticed some sort of shell powder is in there. It certainly does the job for me. After I wiped away the scrub with a dampened cotton pad, which I do with my homemade lip scrub, my lips felt just so smooth and ready for whichever lipstick, gloss or balm I choose. I don’t know if it was wishful thinking, but I’m sure my lips looked a bit plumper especially the top lip which has become thinner with age. I guess the exfoliation has caused the blood to circulate therefore making my lips appear plumper. I’ll take that thank you very much!

If you want to check out the MUA Makeup Academy Lip Scrub, you can find it HERE.

I hope you have a great week, lots of love.

PoutPrime Smoothing Lip Primer from MUA

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty. I’m Teresa.

I’ve never used a lip primer under my lipstick before, so I was very intrigued to test this one from MUA Makeup Academy that they very kindly gifted me for my birthday last month. I had a family “day” to attend where it would have been completely inappropriate to re-apply my lipstick, so I chose the day to try out the PoutPrime Smoothing Lip Primer in the hope that my lipstick would last longer than usual. I knew there would be a lot of hugging and kissing, there would also be eating of cake and drinking of coffee too.

MuaPoutandPrime1

I had a lip scrub when doing my skincare that morning, it’s one from MUA and will be coming to the blog soon. After I had finished applying my face makeup and before applying my eye makeup I applied the lip primer to my lips with my finger so that it would dry a little. It’s a lip balm type consistency and doesn’t feel greasy when applied, it’s colourless and it doesn’t add anything to the lips other than softness and smooth looking lips. After I applied my eye makeup I applied my lipstick on top of the primer. I wore a coral pink lipstick from MUA, and I thought perhaps the lip primer would diffuse the colour but it didn’t, it went on perfectly. My lips felt soft and smooth after lipstick was applied, they didn’t feel sticky and I couldn’t feel as though I was wearing an extra layer on my lips. I hardly ever wear a gloss on top of my lipstick, I prefer the gloss that comes from the product, and I didn’t put a gloss on top of this. During the afternoon I had eaten a few sandwiches and a piece of cake, and drank a couple of big cups of coffee and a glass of wine. There was a lipstick mark left on the coffee cup and on the wine glass, but I still had colour left on my lips, although the sheen of the lipstick has disappeared. At the end of the day when I removed my makeup my lips were a bit dry, although I can’t be sure if it was due to the lip primer or because I had been standing out in the cold and rain earlier that day. I do like the PoutPrime Smoothing Lip Primer, it did give give my lipstick more longevity when I needed it and my 56 year old lips looked smoother too. Check it out HERE.

I’ve a couple of MUA lip products coming up soon, I hope you will come back for those.

MUA Makeup Academy Devotion Palette….

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

This is a fairly new palette to MUA Makeup Academy and it’s right up my street as far as the colours within it are concerned. This is the Devotion Palette for eyes and face.

MuaDevotion4

I was really surprised when this came through the post along with a few other MUA products, as the company sent them to me as a birthday gift back in April. Thank you so much MUA!

MuaDevotion1

The Devotion palette is the perfect mix of 10 matte, shimmer and metallic eyeshadows. It’s multi-formula meaning everything can be used on the face and eyes, and as you can see this palette has a brush for application rather than the usual sponge applicator. I didn’t think that I would use the brush but, I have been. I use it to apply matte eyeshadow into the crease of my eyes and taking it above to try and make my eyes less hooded.

MuaDevotion2

These eyeshadows are lovely and pigmented and they blend really well too. They are buildable to the intensity of colour you want, and it’s perfect for all skin tones.

MuaDevotion3

The two large pans of colour in the palette are metallic cream which can be used as highlighters for the face and as a base for eyeshadows, they can also be used on their own as eyeshadow. Used on their own, they give the eyes a beautiful gloss, making them look awake. If you have oily lids though there might be a problem with them creasing, so it would be a good idea to use a primer first. This is a very pretty eye and face palette, one I think I shall be using quite a bit over the coming weeks into Summer, and it’s a bargain at just £5.00 HERE.

Sorry there are no swatches at the moment, the light took a turn for the worse and we couldn’t get decent photos, but as soon as they are available I’ll update this post.

Skin Define Matte Perfect Loose Powder….MUA Makeup Academy

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

The third step to a matte complexion using the new Skin Define range from MUA Makeup Academy. This is the Matte Perfect Loose Powder.

MuaMattePowder

This is a micro-fine powder with Vitamins A and E and Jojoba. It’s in the one colour only but should suit all skin tones, to seal in your foundation and help to stop oil and shine from occurring throughout the day. I used this powder down the center of my face on my forehead and a little under my eyes to “set” my concealer. I was surprised to see that it’s perfect for under my eyes as it didn’t settle into my lines. I apply my powder with a brush under my eyes for a lighter coverage, but I use a powder puff to apply to my face, then use a brush afterwards. It applies lovely using both techniques. I kept an eye on my makeup throughout the day to check for any shine and to see if my foundation was sliding off. Absolutely no problem for me at all. Centre of my face and my forehead were still nice and matte, and under my eyes still looked fine also, the powder hadn’t caked or creased, result!

The Matte Perfect Loose Powder will be staying in my makeup bag and used a lot! You can check it out HERE

MUA makeup Academy Skin Define Matte Perfect Foundation…

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I always try to get my makeup to be smooth and matte looking, and then add sheen and glow afterwards on the areas I want to sheen and glow. So when I was given the opportunity to try the new Matte Perfect range of face makeup by MUA Makeup Academy I got excited. They very kindly sent me the Skin Define Matte Perfect Primer, Foundation and Loose Face Powder. I have already written my review of the primer and I’ll leave a link at the end if you would like to read my thoughts on that.

MuaMatteFoundation

I’m very happy with this foundation. I love the pump dispenser, it’s a great size too with 32ml of product, and it’s formulated with Vitamins A and E, and Jojoba so great for the skin. There are 6 shades to choose from, and I have the shade Natural Beige. I used two pumps worth on the back of my hand and applied it to my face with a brush using a stippling action. It’s a super medium coverage and can easily build up to a full coverage foundation. I have to say that this one does apply much better than my last MUA foundation, which was the Skin Define Hydro Foundation. It’s easier to work with and doesn’t drag on the skin, BUT it didn’t apply completely matte for me, there is still a very slight dewiness to my skin which I actually like, a flawless appearance all the same. I have some redness on my chin and cheek, which it completely covered. I didn’t use it under my eyes, just in case it made the area dry I used concealer to cover the area instead. I then used the Skin Define Matte Perfect Powder over the top and completed the rest of my makeup. I’ll be writing a separate review on the powder in another post. So in essence the Matte Perfect Foundation from MUA Makeup Academy is super. I love the pump dispenser that gives you the exact amount you need, I love the application, and I definitely love the coverage! This beauty is just £4.00 from Superdrug on the High Street and online at MUA Makeup Academy HERE
