Oh My GOSH, New Makeup!

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I have wanted to try GOSH Copenhagen makeup for ages, so I let out a little squeal (a loud little squeal) when GOSH sent me a few products to try.

I’m sharing with you the GOSH Strobe n Glow Kit in Highlight, GOSH Lumi Drops in Gold and the GOSH Eyeshadow Primer. Now, to be honest I am not and never will be a big strobe/highlight fan. I like to add a subtle glow to my makeup rather than go for all out strobing, that’s just my preference, and with both these GOSH illuminating products you can use them in a subtle way or go for all out highlighting and strobing. The Strobe n Glow Kit in Highlight is a 4 in 1 powder highlight and blush palette, each 1/4 is a different product, with a white gold highlighter, and three golden toned bronzers to define. So buttery soft in texture with beautiful colour pay off and they all blend so well, I only had to just dip my brush in once to get the payoff I wanted, of course it’s buildable to the intensity you like. I applied to my face after powdering, and found it lasted me until I took my makeup off that evening. The Strobe n Glow kit from GOSH is the perfect addition for my makeup collection, it will more than likely get me into highlighting more. You can find the Strobe n Glow at Superdrug on the High Street, or online HERE.

Now, the gorgeous Lumi Drops from GOSH are stunning! I have the oh so pretty Gold colour. Lumi Drops is a liquid highlighter and it’s a multi tasking product, I believe. You can wear it on it’s own on bare skin to give yourself a gorgeous golden glow to the complexion, mix it with your foundation for a pretty dewy effect. Use it on top of your foundation to add a healthy looking luminosity to the skin. Simply use it only on certain places on the face to highlight, ie top of cheekbones, through the brow bone to finish of your eye look and don’t forget the cupids bow to help make your lips appear fuller. I used Lumi Drops on the top of my cheek bones and with just a tiny amount on my cupids bow. It does just lift the look of my makeup without making my face appear shiny and oily looking. I think Lumi Drops will be fabulous for the coming Christmas party season (Did I just us the “C” word?) when we all get out or LBD’s you can pop Lumi Drops on the collarbone for a gorgeous glow and tops of the shoulders too! You can find Lumi Drops in more shades too, check out Superdrug on the High Street, or online HERE.

Lastly, for now anyway I have the GOSH Copenhagen Eyeshadow Primer. This product I have really fallen in love with, oh my Gosh it’s fab! A gorgeous nude shade eye shadow primer that will even out the skin-tone which is great for me due to the darkening of my eyelids as I’ve got older. It’s waterproof so making it sweat proof too which was great during the hot Summer days we had a few weeks ago! I have oily eyelids and it helped keep my eyeshadow in place without creasing. It’s very easy to apply from the stick then blend with the sponge tip smudger. I have loved to use it all over my lid up to the brow bone, apply a touch of mascara for a no makeup look, It just makes the skin on the eye area look smoothed and eyes more awake when you want to go bare faced. This is a really lovely product and one I shall be re-purchasing. You can find the GOSH Eyeshadow Primer in Superdrug on the High Street and online HERE.

I have a couple more products from GOSH to share with you very soon, and there is few more products I want to try too. Thank you for stopping by today.

Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil…. My Thoughts

Hello my lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I hate anything to do with my eyebrows! I cannot properly give myself perfect eyebrows to face the world with. I’ve never had the patience to let them grow back from the dreadful over-plucking as was the trend back in the day, we wore them very thin then! Oh they aren’t really thin now they have grown somewhat, but I can’t seem to shape them very well anymore, poor eyesight doesn’t help. I just tend to pluck out what I need to and trim up the stragglers! I’ve got some eyebrow hairs that has turned grey and are difficult to cover, or rather difficult to stay covered. In essence my eyebrows are the bane of my beauty life! BUT, I now have Billion Dollar Brows!

In fact I have the Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil, which was sent to me from KLM Beauty.

This is a gorgeous double ended brow pencil, with a fantastic spoolie brush to comb the product through your eyebrows. Why Universal? Because it’s been formulated to work on all colours of eyebrows. My brows have got lighter over the years with the few added grey’s too. But this brown brow pencil works fantastically well for me. The lighter the colour brows, the lighter the pressure when using the pencil. It’s not a hard pencil it does apply easily by coating the grey hairs to my liking and it combs through well with the spoolie, AND it lasts on my brows until I remove it. It’s a retractable pencil which I find handy because I don’t have to worry about breaking the pencil in my makeup bag, however I do think that maybe the pencil could have been finer/sharper point. Other than that one gripe, the Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil is great and has restored my faith in my own eyebrows again, they may not be “on fleek” but I feel now I can brush my fringe away sometimes!

If you want perfect eyebrows, check out KLM Beauty HERE.

A Small Essence Haul from Wilko…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Mark and I just had to get into the car and get out for a while on Sunday, after we had a really rubbish week. I wanted to purchase a few Essence cosmetics goodies from Wilko online but because the rubbish week was down to a bit of online fraud on Mark’s bank account we decided to go to our nearest Wilko store instead, safer that way.

I did write myself a list of Essence products I wanted but only managed to get a few from said list, our local store didn’t have everything in, but what I did buy I was happy with. I’ll be writing reviews on EAB soon.

I’m really looking forward to trying the Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Foundation & Concealer, will I still need my concealer? We’ll see, and I will get back to you, soon  It was only £3.80. I’ve always wanted to try a lip oil, and when I saw this one by Essence I thought that I’d give it a go. I’ve no idea what a lip oil is for, does it colour, does it condition, does it hydrate? I’ll get back to you on that. The lip oil was just £2.00. I have wanted to try an Essence mascara for ages, especially one that claims to give “extreme volume and curl” my eyelashes or rather the state of them is really depressing me. I’d give my right arm to be able to go and get eyelash extensions done but until my numbers come up in the Lotto I shall keep on looking for my holy grail mascara. Could this be the one? I’ll let you know. The Essence False Lashes mascara is £2.80. I hate my lips as much as I do my eyelashes! If I could afford lip fillers I wouldn’t hesitate in getting them done! So until I do get that big Lotto cheque it’s lip plumping products for me! I picked up the Essence Volume On! lip plumping lipgloss, it’s a pretty nude peach shade, so I’ll give it a go and get back to you with my thoughts. The Essence Volume On! lip plumping lipgloss is £2.30 and finally I picked up a Nail Caring Oil it contains Apricot oil so I’m looking forward to trying that too. I’m in the middle of trialing some nail products at the moment, so I’ll let you know what the Essence product is like, soon. The Essence Nail Caring Oil is just £2.00.

I purchased my Essence products from my local Wilko stores but you can purchase online from Wilko too, HERE or from the Essence website HERE

Thank you for reading, I’ll be back soon with my thoughts on my Essence purchases.

Feeling the Heat with MUA Makeup Academy… Fire Vixen Eyeshadow Palette

Welcome my lovelies to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

A lot of bloggers have been getting hot under the collar over the new eye shadow palette to be released by Urban Decay, Naked Heat. I am not able to purchase a palette with  that price tag at the moment, so I decided to treat myself to one of the newest palettes that MUA Makeup Academy have released, and it’s just as “hot” this is the Fire Vixen Palette.

This palette is going to take me through the rest of Summer through to Autumn, Winter and all over the Christmas holidays with these 15 buttery soft glorious eye shadow shades!

Aren’t these colours just fabulous? From pretty nude shades, to bronze, copper, burnt orange and a gorgeous cranberry red, with grey’s and silver and different shades of pink, and 8 of the colours are Matte! The colours that I used on myself (and to be honest I think I will use them more than others in the palette) are the first one on the top row, the cream all over my lid and up to the brow, the fourth one along also top row I applied to the mobile lid, and the last matte shade on the top row I blended into the crease and slightly above to actually give myself the look of a lesser hooded eye. They blend out so beautifully too, this is a gorgeous palette and one I feel I shall be using rather a lot.

You can check this and other such gorgeousness from MUA Makeup Academy HERE.

Crowd Colour Matte Liquid Lip…

Hello, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Ok so Crowd Colour are a brand that gives! Not only great quality make up but everything you buy from them they give 10% back to your local schools and community! Click the link HERE. To learn more.

Gareth from Crowd Colour very kindly sent me three of their Matte Liquid Lip colours, this one is RUBY.

This next shade is another red with more pink undertones, this is CHLOE.

But my favourite shade and the one that I wear most of is a coral/nude shade called IZZY.

I do like the way the liquid lipsticks apply, they have a doe foot applicator and they go on to the lips so smoothly, the three shades are very highly pigmented and they dry to a silky matte finish. When I tried the RUBY lip colour I wasn’t sure I would like any of them, I’ve always been wary of matte lip products, due to my ageing thinning lips! On first applying I noticed how flakey my lips were! So I removed the colour and used a lip scrub to get rid of the dryness. That’s better, the dark red lip colour looked a whole lot better. It dried down in about 5 minutes, and I did notice that my lips felt slightly dry and tight, but I guess that’s just the nature of a lot of matte lip products, they aren’t very moisturising, are they?

I applied my matte lip colour after breakfast, and the colour was still on at lunchtime. I drink a lot of coffee and water throughout the day AND I’m a lip licker and the colour stayed on my lips without me needing to re-apply. It did however start to break down and disappear after I had eaten a salad sandwich with mayonnaise. I decided to remove the rest of the lip colour, and I used a normal micellar water which took it off completely, so there’s no need to scrub it off your lips, it will come off in a normal skin care routine.

There are 6 pretty shades available, check them out HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

MUA Makeup Academy Unique Lip Gloss…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I have something Unique to share with you today. Unique to MUA Makeup Academy anyway. This is a pretty Unique Lip Gloss.

It’s from the MUA Luxe range of their gorgeous products and it is said to adapt itself using the pH in your body to give you your perfect pink shade on your lips. Although this is a clear pink lipgloss it applies clear to the lips. Then after a while it should take on your own shade of Pink. Below is what MUA says:

“Apply this pH reactive lip gloss to your lips for your personalised shade. Upon application the formula adapts to your natural pH to create a bespoke subtle pink shade.”

Before I started trialing this lipgloss, which I did purchase myself by the way. I used my MUA Lip scrub to get rid of any dryness that I’ve been getting in the hot weather. I applied it to clean dry lips, and it applies beautifully, there is no stickiness to this lipgloss, it doesn’t feel in any way gloopy and it’s so glossy on the lips too! Did it change colour on my lips though? Did I get my own bespoke shade of pink? Well, my lips did appear to be darker looking in appearance but they weren’t pink at all. Maybe the darker my lips were looking IS my bespoke shade of pink? I must say they did look glossy and hydrated, and I do enjoy wearing the Unique Lip Gloss, and it’s only £4.00 HERE.

Have you tried the Unique Lip Gloss from MUA? If you have I’d love to know what you think to it. Did you get your bespoke shade of pink?

MUA Luxe Velvet Matte Lipstick

Hello, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Today I’m coming to you to share  a lovely new lipstick that I purchased myself from MUA Makeup Academy. This is relatively new to their Luxe range of cosmetics, it’s the Velvet Matte Lipstick, I have shade number 12.

Really gorgeous packaging for this lipstick in black and gold matte. The cap and bullet are a really strong “snap” open/closure, absolutely no chance of this opening in your makeup bag! The lipstick itself is faceted with clean  sharp edges for a really neat and precise application to the lips. It applies like a dream too. I was never really a fan of matte lip products, thinking that they just made my lips look dry and thin and more aged, but for a matte lipstick I found this one quite moisturising and my lips didn’t look thin and “old” either. But what is it about matte lip products, why do they all smell like a painters workshop? The weird smell isn’t as strong with this lipstick, but it is there, although it doesn’t taste horrid. Once you have got by the smell and the lipstick had dried down there is no transference to my coffee cup and it didn’t disappear when I ate food either. In fact I had the colour on my lips for about 4 hours, without it fading and leaving me with that horrid dry lip line, even with me always licking my lips too. A highly pigmented full coverage matte lipstick that I really am enjoying at the moment, and I never thought I would. I am actually going to purchase another couple of shades right after I’ve posted this, from the MUA website HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Matte Soft Focus Eyeshadow Palette from MUA Makeup Academy…

Hello beauty lovers, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty Blog.

I thought today I would share with you a pretty eyeshadow palette from the fabulous MUA Makeup Academy. This is the Matte Soft Focus Palette.

Please just feast your eyes on the prettiness of the colours in this palette! It’s perfect for Spring/Summer I think, soft matte pastel and neutral shades will suit all skin tones, and they are all encased in the MUA standard black packaging, with the double ended sponge applicator.

The 12 powder eyeshadows are all so creamy soft and blendable,   I didn’t find them chalky at all. Although I can see why the palette is called “Soft Focus” the eyeshadows are muted when applied to the eyelids, but then they can be built up to the intensity you want. When I tried these out for reviewing here on my blog, I did one eye with an eye primer and one without. I did find the colours applied more intensely to the primed eye lid, more of the pigment showed through. For last-ability? I wore the eyeshadows all day, it did fade but some colour did remain behind.

On the reverse of the palette you will find the names of all the shades, which is what I love about MUA, they don’t give you a silly sheet of acetate with names of shades printed on, that inevitably always gets misplaced. So from the top left is Delicate, next Balmy, Faint, Gentle, Dainty, lastly Misty. On the bottom row from left is Subdued, Tender, Muted, Tinted, Mellow, and lastly is Whisper. A really lovely eyeshadow palette and only £4.00 Here.

MUA have recently launched some beautiful new lipsticks, I’m off for a peruse, hopefully I can find something to suit me and I can bring you that soon as poss. Thank you for stopping by today.

A Trio of MUA Makeup Academy Pretties!

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

A couple of weeks ago I had a trip to our local Superdrug and treated my self to a few goodies, three of which are from MUA Makeup Academy, my favourite budget makeup brand.

I will be writing separate reviews on each of the products, but for now I’m just sharing with you the products I purchased. If you have these, I’d love to know your thoughts too. I’m nosy like that.

At the top there you can see that I have a really pretty eye shadow palette from MUA. Really lovely shades that are perfect for the Summer months, and they are ALL matte eyeshadows too, that’s a result. This is the Matte Soft Focus Eyeshadow Palette. I’ll have a review of the palette soon on EAB.

Next is a product that I have been after for ages, it’s the Custom Colour Foundation Mixer, in the shade Lightening, Cool. I’ve got a few foundations that I can’t use as they are too dark for me, so when I saw MUA had launched this product into their range I was so happy. I will have a review of the foundation mixer coming up soon.

Lastly, this lip gloss intrigued me. It’s from the MUA Luxe range and it’s called Unique Lip Gloss. This is what MUA says “Apply this pH reactive lip gloss to your lips for your personalised shade. Upon application the formula adapts to your natural pH to create a bespoke subtle pink shade.” I will of course get back to you when I’ve used it a few times and let you know if it does work. There might even be a pic of my lips! yes I’m getting daring aren’t I? But I feel that with a product like this I have to do it.

Okay beauties, I’ll be back soon with reviews on these three products. In the meantime if you would like to check them out for yourself the link to MUA Makeup Academy is HERE. Also Superdrug too is HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Makeup Revolution Renaissance Palette…Daytime

So Mark surprised me with a little Superdrug delivery last week and one of the products inside was this smashing palette by Makeup Revolution, this is the Renaissance Palette, Daytime.

A cute little compact sized palette in a pretty cream with rose gold hard wear, and the palette itself is shrouded in a cream velour pouch which is snuggled in a cream and gold  box. Now the photos have been taken I wont keep my palette in the box or pouch, the box will go into the recycling bin, and the pouch I’m keeping in my handbag for when I’m out and about, sometimes I get the urge to have to remove the jewellery I’m wearing that day, and it was always like searching an abyss in my hand bag to retrieve earrings so now I can just pop them in the little pouch should the urge take me! Anyway I digress, what did I think of the Renaissance Palette?

The palette is as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside. The five neutral eyeshadows are sitting in a bed of gold, and are a really good size individually. The first shade is a cream coloured shimmer shade for highlighting the eye the others are all matte eyeshadows. There’s a double ended applicator laying to the front of the palette, this time it’s brushes on both ends instead of the usual sponge applicator. The eyeshadows themselves are as you would expect from Makeup Revolution, lovely and buttery soft and so easy to blend. I got a little fall out from the darkest shade when putting under my lower lashes, but a quick swipe with a fluffy brush and it’s soon sorted.

The Renaissance Palette Daytime is just what it says it is, perfect for your natural daytime look, and there’s one for night time too, with both just £8.00 each on TAM Beauty website HERE. If you aren’t in the UK, TAM Beauty does ship internationally. If you are in the UK you can also buy from Superdrug online HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today, I shall be back soon to share a few more colour cosmetics products with you. I feel like it’s been an absolute age since I had some makeup reviews here on EAB so I must rectify that.

See you soon.

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick….My Thoughts

You may remember that in my March favourites post which is HERE, I had a lipstick, from the budget brand Essence. I thought that I’d come back today to let you know my exact thoughts on the lipstick.

For a lipstick that only cost me a couple of pounds, I think that the packaging looks pretty classy, it’s a lovely matte black casing with the “e” logo on the top and the lipstick shade is around the middle. When you go into the casing and wind up the lipstick the “e” logo is present embossed on the lipstick itself.

I applied my lipstick on a day I was going to be out for a few hours, hoping that I wouldn’t need to re-apply. However this didn’t last all day, about 4 hours maybe. But actually it doesn’t bother me, I’m a lip licker, and lipsticks don’t tend to last too long on me anyway. I did apply it over the top of foundation primed lips without a liner ( I don’t have any lip liners, yes bad beauty blogger!) It’s lovely and moisturising, and very pigmented for a budget lipstick too. There are 12 pretty shades in the Long Lasting lipstick range on the Essence website, and I want a few more of the shades because I actually like this one very much. HERE. I purchased my Essence lipstick from  UK high street store Wilko, they are also online too HERE.

I’m hoping to be getting some more colour cosmetics posts up on Elegant Ageless Beauty very soon, but it takes money to do it, which I don’t have much of at the moment. There’s 4 grandchildren to buy Easter eggs for, then 2 of them have birthdays in the same month. It’s a good job I adore them, of course.

Thank you for stopping by..
