I usually prefer my face makeup fairly matte and add some glow with a touch of highlighter on the top of my cheekbones. But I’ve decided to give an illuminating foundation a go and I treated myself to this one from Collection. This is the Illuminating Touch Foundation. To be honest, I’ve had this foundation for a few months and it’s remained unopened in my drawer. I purchased mine from Superdrug, but it does appear to be discontinued from there, however Boots do still have it in stock. I’ll leave a link at the end of my post.
A foundation such as this one is perfect for dry skin like mine, it does make an older face appear more luminous therefore giving a more youthful appearance. So why oh why have I only just started to use this pretty product? I really don’t know! BUT, better late than not at all.
The foundation comes in a gorgeous frosted glass bottle that has a sun burst motif on it, and with a pump action delivery system, which I love. I used my dampened Basic Beauty Tools foundation blending sponge to apply the foundation to my face (I’ve a review of the sponge HERE) and it blended into my skin easily and even though the formula is quite lightweight, it gave me a lovely medium coverage which is perfect for me for Spring/Summer. Once on the skin it gave me a soft dewy glow, and not an oily looking mess that I was expecting. I used it right up onto and under my eyes, where I found that it didn’t sink in to any lines, in fact it kept the area hydrated. I did powder around my nose and chin, because I don’t like to look too shiny in those areas. The staying power of the foundation was ok, it didn’t slide off my skin at all and it didn’t go orange on me either. In all for just £5.99 it’s a super illuminating foundation. There are just 4 shades available which is unfortunate to be honest, check them out HERE.
Hello my lovelies, I’m Teresa, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.
In my attempt to start feeling Springlike I finally got hold of an MUA Makeup Academy palette that I’ve been hankering after since it was launched. This is the Burning Embers eyeshadow palette, and the colours just say Spring and Summer to me. Check this little stunner out!
This gorgeous palette houses 25 eyeshadows, pink and earthy tones from muted to bright, a mix of satin, shimmer and matte. As is usual with MUA these eyeshadows are so pigmented, soft and buttery in texture and easily blendable to an intensity you like. I would wear all the colours in this palette, I may be pushing 58 but that is why I can! I am also going to be colouring my hair Rose Gold soon, and there are many colours in the Burning Embers palette that will compliment my new hair shade. I love this palette!
The MUA Makeup Academy Burning Embers palette is £8.00 on their website HERE. BUT over on the Superdrug website it’s a *star buy* at just £6.00 HERE.
I’ve got another one of those lush foodie face masks from Superdrug, and this is my favourite out the three that I’ve used.
This is the Avocado and Oat Facemask. A pale green fresh fragrant facemask containing Avocado, Oatmeal and natural clay, and it’s so creamy! I apply this to my skin after cleansing and relax for 15-20 minutes or at least until the mask has dried on my face.
Removing the mask I like to wet it and massage over my face until it’s all loosened up again, then remove it completely with a face cloth or muslin cloth. I feel like it’s giving me that extra exfoliation. Afterwards my skin feels so clean, fresh and soft and moisturised, and it looks really smooth with a bit of a glow too. This is obviously not a face mask to sleep in for an overnight treatment, but one that I’d use a couple of times a week for sure.
Right now in Superdrug, the Avocado and Oat Facemask is on offer for £3.29, and when you purchase 3 selected skincare products you get a Bubble face mask FREE! Have a click HERE.
Hey there my lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa…
I’ve got another one of those super gorgeous face masks from the Superdrug own brand range of We love Facemasks.
The face mask I’m sharing today is the Charcoal Facemask. It’s a deep cleansing mud mask that smells nothing like other charcoal products I’ve used, this smells fresh and delicious!
It’s thick and feels creamy in texture and cold to the touch too so I knew that I was going to love this mask, a lot. It did not disappoint me either. I applied the mask after cleansing my face, using a flat foundation brush and left it to dry on my skin for about 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes I splashed my face with warm water and massaged the mask on my face to soften it, then removed it completely with my face cloth and dried my face. My skin felt clean, and a little tight to be honest, although not dry just smooth and refreshed. This is a mask that I shall continue to use at night after cleansing I think, then add my oils etc. Containing natural ingredients, all these face masks are suitable for Vegans and all packaging is recyclable too!
There are 6 of these face masks in the range and I do want to try the other three that I don’t have, and at just £4.99 and a “Buy 1 get 2nd half price mix and match” offer in Superdrug at the moment, it’s the ideal time to stock up methinks. You will find the Charcoal Face Mask HERE.
I love me a face mask, a face mask of any kind pampers my skin especially at this time of year. It’s freezing cold so the central heating is on which leaves my skin really dry and dehydrated. So today I thought that I would share with you a delicious face mask that’s jam-packed full of fruity goodness (actually Superdrug said “gooey goodness”) yes it’s gooey alright but it’s also very fruity too! I’ve been sent three Superdrug own brand of Kitchen Facemasks, the first one I’m sharing is the Blueberry Jam face mask.
This really is a delicious sweet-smelling just like jam face mask. Very yummy, I almost want to spread some on a scone and add a bit of whipped cream! But I resisted the temptation and applied it to my face after cleansing. I used a flat foundation brush to apply the mask to my face, it really is quite gloopy but it had a heat to it as I was applying it, the kind of sensation you get from a self heating face mask. I left the mask on my face for 15 minutes, I could smell the sugary sweetness. After the 15 minutes I added a little bit of warm water and massaged the mask on my face. I could feel the sugar within it providing some gentle exfoliation. I removed the mask with a face cloth and warm water, my skin look rosy pink and glowing, felt really soft, refreshed and clean! This really is quite a lovely “on a budget” face mask to use a couple of times a week. It’s also an environmentally friendly product too, being vegetarian and vegan friendly and all packaging is recyclable too! Pop along to your local Superdrug or go to Superdrug online HERE.
