A Small Essence Haul from Wilko…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Mark and I just had to get into the car and get out for a while on Sunday, after we had a really rubbish week. I wanted to purchase a few Essence cosmetics goodies from Wilko online but because the rubbish week was down to a bit of online fraud on Mark’s bank account we decided to go to our nearest Wilko store instead, safer that way.

I did write myself a list of Essence products I wanted but only managed to get a few from said list, our local store didn’t have everything in, but what I did buy I was happy with. I’ll be writing reviews on EAB soon.

I’m really looking forward to trying the Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Foundation & Concealer, will I still need my concealer? We’ll see, and I will get back to you, soon  It was only £3.80. I’ve always wanted to try a lip oil, and when I saw this one by Essence I thought that I’d give it a go. I’ve no idea what a lip oil is for, does it colour, does it condition, does it hydrate? I’ll get back to you on that. The lip oil was just £2.00. I have wanted to try an Essence mascara for ages, especially one that claims to give “extreme volume and curl” my eyelashes or rather the state of them is really depressing me. I’d give my right arm to be able to go and get eyelash extensions done but until my numbers come up in the Lotto I shall keep on looking for my holy grail mascara. Could this be the one? I’ll let you know. The Essence False Lashes mascara is £2.80. I hate my lips as much as I do my eyelashes! If I could afford lip fillers I wouldn’t hesitate in getting them done! So until I do get that big Lotto cheque it’s lip plumping products for me! I picked up the Essence Volume On! lip plumping lipgloss, it’s a pretty nude peach shade, so I’ll give it a go and get back to you with my thoughts. The Essence Volume On! lip plumping lipgloss is £2.30 and finally I picked up a Nail Caring Oil it contains Apricot oil so I’m looking forward to trying that too. I’m in the middle of trialing some nail products at the moment, so I’ll let you know what the Essence product is like, soon. The Essence Nail Caring Oil is just £2.00.

I purchased my Essence products from my local Wilko stores but you can purchase online from Wilko too, HERE or from the Essence website HERE

Thank you for reading, I’ll be back soon with my thoughts on my Essence purchases.

My Top 6 MUA Makeup Academy Products….

Hey lovelies, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

As regular readers of EAB might know, my favourite High Street budget makeup brand is the fabulous MUA Makeup Academy. Obviously I love them for  the price point of the products, but you also get great quality for such little money too. I thought that I would share with you my top 5 MUA products that I’ve been using for a long time or I’ve just found and been loving quite recently.

The Skin Define Matte Perfect Loose Powder. This is a newer product in my makeup bag and I do use it every time I wear makeup. It really gives my skin the matte finish I like, it doesn’t clog up my pores and it’s nourishing with the Vitamins A and E, and Jojoba in there too. See my full review HERE

The award winning Pro-Base Prime & Conceal. This is just fabulous! It’s got everything you need for colour correcting different areas of the face, it’s soft and creamy and blends beautifully. I’ve actually “hit pan” on the salmon pink shade now, it’s the one I use most of all. Click HERE for full review.

The gorgeous Elysium eye shadow palette is my most reached for MUA palette. Gorgeous mix of shimmer and matte shades for a pretty daytime look, to the sexy sultry smokey eye for evenings out. If you would like to see my full review, please click HERE.

For Spring and Summer time I’m loving a more natural look for my lips. For me there is nothing better than the Sweet Sheen Lip Balm in the shade Coral Reef. It’s just the right amount of colour and is super hydrating for the lips. You can see my full review HERE.

I adore this lip scrub, I use it every night during my evening skincare routine. No more waking up with dry lips for me. It sloughs away all the dry skin and hydrates and conditions them with lovely Vitamin E. You can see my full review HERE.

The Eye Define Nourish & Care Volume Mascara is a new discovery for me and it’s now my favourite budget brand mascara. It’s so black, it volumises my eye lashes and it conditions too. The brush itself is perfect and grabs every lash for me. You can see my full review HERE.

So that’s my top 6 MUA Makeup Academy products that I love to use on a regular basis. If you haven’t checked out MUA yet, click HERE.

MUA Makeup Academy Eye Define Nourish and Care Volume Mascara..

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty I’m Teresa.

When I first saw that MUA had launched a new volumising mascara I got rather excited, even more so when I found out that it contains Avocado Oil to help nourish and care for the eyelashes. I’ve been on a “spending ban” since January so I didn’t think I would be able to get this much wanted mascara for a while yet. But those gorgeous people at MUA Makeup Academy very kindly sent me one as a gift for my birthday back in April. This is the Eye Define Nourish and Care Volume Mascara.

I was so pleased that this mascara has a proper bristle brush, I don’t get on with the silicon ones very well, and the bristles on this wand are fantastic. They get right to the roots of my lashes, which are short through age, and it coats all of the lashes with product. I can actually feel the brush holding the lashes as I apply it.

It’s the blackest of black mascara, I have a solitary grey lash and it’s covered that. I always curl my eyelashes before applying mascara, and I sometimes find that mascara can weigh them down and they end up straight again, but I found that with the Nourish and Care mascara because the lashes remain soft not crispy and hard, they hold the curl for a longer time. It’s the avocado oil that gives the lashes the softness and nourishment, and it can also encourage them to grow too, although I’ve not noticed mine to be any longer, yet. I always apply 2/3 coats of mascara depending on if I’m staying home or not. I found that even with the 2 coats my lashes look fuller and much more noticeable and I like that a lot! This mascara is my new favourite High Street mascara, one that I shall re-purchase when my spending ban is lifted. At just £4.00 I think I might get two! You can purchase from Superdrug on the High Street or online and also from MUA HERE.

April Favourites…

Hi lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

It’s a little late but here’s my April Favourites, and there are quite a few products that I’ve loved over the last month, some are new favourites and some are always on this old face of mine.

Mark and I have been out and about quite a bit lately visiting family etc, and now the nicer weather has arrived in England I’m using a lighter base on my face, and my favourite is the gorgeous Heaven Skincare Silk  Skin Bee Bee Cream, it minimises fine lines and wrinkles because it’s anti ageing and contains the patented ABeetoxin which was created by Deborah Mitchell owner of Heaven Skincare. It also has an SPF20. It gives my skin a lovely glow while at the same time provides hydration and coverage. You can read my full review HERE.

Another favourite that I use every day is my Heaven Skincare Heavenly Eyes Regenerating Complex. It is my perfect eye cream! I’ve been using this every day since December last year and I love the way my under eyes are looking. I still have my “hoods” and this lifts them slightly, temporarily, after all nothing will get rid of those except surgery, this eye cream is so cooling and hydrating it leaves my under eyes smooth and ready for makeup, and it doesn’t cause any puffiness either. Read full review HERE.

What can I say about this sell out palette from Makeup Revolution? It has become my favourite palette that the brand has given us so far. It’s in collab with Jane Cunningham aka British Beauty Blogger. It’s perfect for any age, the mixture of the different colors and textures is truly fab read my full review HERE.

My next favourite I haven’t actually reviewed yet. It was one of my birthday pressies from Mark, a gorgeous gift set called In The Pink and it’s from the brand Bomb Cosmetics. I love bath bombs but don’t tend to get to a Lush store so when a shop in our town began stocking Bomb Cosmetics products I was a very happy bunny. This gift set is gorgeous, it’s pink, it’s fruity, it’s very girly it’s just ME! I will be writing reviews very soon, so I hope you will come back for that.

There is a review coming of the MUA Makeup Academy Eye Define Volume Nourish & Care mascara. It’s made it into my April favourites because I’ve been using it every day since Jade at MUA sent it to me as a gift for my birthday, along with a cute little eye lash curler too. Used together they have transformed the way my eyelashes look, and I’m very happy with that!

MUA Skin Define Matte Perfect foundation, just so lovely it had to be in my April favourites. I don’t use a heavier foundation in the warmer months, I go for a BB cream, but this has been my go to foundation up till now. You can read why I love it HERE.

My last two favourites I thought I would never get to try. They were gifted to me by my blogger friend Kim Davis from Thefabcompany  HERE. She sent me a Thermal Cleansing Balm from Omorovicza to try and it’s been fabulous to use. I’ve been using it at night to remove all traces of the day. I reviewed it HERE. The Queen of Hungary Mist is a gorgeous refreshing facial mist that I use after cleansing every morning and night. It’s been fabulous for those hot flush moments too, when I get a hot flush I spritz my face and the back of the neck, wonderful! My review is HERE.

So that’s my favourites for April, I wonder if any of them will be in my May favourites? We’ll see.

A Small Fragrance Direct Haul…W7

Hello Lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

One of the places I like to shop for low budget cosmetics is Fragrance Direct, a website selling branded, discounted perfumes, aftershaves, cosmetics, haircare, skincare and beauty products. I’ll leave a link at the end of this post. Mark and I use the website quite a lot, we can get more for our money when we want presents for Christmas and birthdays, and for the occasional “haul” like today. I wanted some W7 cosmetics that I’d seen on a You Tube video, So we put an order in with Fragrance Direct last Friday lunchtime and it arrived on Monday afternoon, fantastic fast delivery from them! We paid £1.99 for standard tracked delivery, they state 5-7 working days from dispatch, it is however FREE standard tracked on orders over £40. At the moment of writing this post there is an offer of Buy 5 get 1 FREE!

I didn’t buy every product that I saw in the haul video, just the ones I really wanted to try from W7. So from the top of the picture is the Cheeky Trio, a blusher, bronzer and highlighter palette. Someone once said to me that there is a red lipstick out there for everyone, so I’ve been experimenting with a red lippy as I’ve never been a huge fan, and now I think I may have found MY perfect red lipstick! I bought a Butter Kiss lipstick in the shade Red Light. I needed some new eyelash curlers so I picked up Groovy Curls. The In the Mood eyeshadow palette look very similar to the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette, but at a fraction of the cost. Lastly I picked up a mascara and eyeliner pencil combo, this is the Big Lash Mascara combo in Blackest Black.

I will of course be bringing you reviews of everything in my little haul very soon, so I hope you will come back for them, in the meantime check out the fab bargains from Fragrance Direct HERE
