The One Foundation from Makeup Revolution…..

Hello lovely people!

I have been waiting ages for this foundation, in fact I had been waiting ages to be able to place an order for Makeup Revolution goodies – period. We have had such a lot going on over the last couple of months with Grand-Kids birthdays, my birthday (I chose to have a new phone rather than make up this year) and also the birth of a beautiful new Grandaughter, so beauty products took a back-seat for a little while. But Mark told me last weekend I could order some new products, and I chose to shop online at Superdrug as they had a 3 for 2 offer going on. I knew immediately what I was going to order, I wanted THE ONE and here it is!

The One Foundation from fantastic new brand Makeup Revolution is an” innovative complexion perfector” that adapts to the tone and texture of the skin to give a flawless finish. It’s a very light liquid foundation that is both blendable and buildable to give a full matte coverage without losing the skin’s natural luminosity. There is a collection of  16 shades, and their base tones are either “warm” or “cool” depending on your own skin-tone. I am a warm tone in a medium shade, so I bought shade 7.

So what is the consistency like? I was worried when I first opened my box and shook the bottle, it just sounded like water inside and when I poured some foundation on to the back of my hand it was incredibly runny, I didn’t think there would be any coverage at all on my skin.

What is the coverage like? I put one drop of The One Foundation on the back of my hand and began applying it with my fingers, but I wasn’t liking how it was going on so I carried on applying it but using my usual stippling brush. It applies much better with a brush rather than fingers, in my opinion. I was worried also that because it is so light, it wouldn’t cover all my imperfections, ie redness on my cheeks and chin that has occurred with the ageing process. BUT, I just added another drop of foundation to the back of my hand and applied it using my stippling brush, in essence I had on two “coats” of a very light product and I was AMAZED at how good my complexion looked. It DIDN’T emphasise my large pores, it DIDN’T settle into the lines around my eyes and it DID cover the redness I get on my chin and cheeks, The One Foundation gave me a gorgeous matte finish to my skin and I haven’t had to use powder!

What about staying power? I applied my foundation at 7.30am over the top of my usual skin-care. I wasn’t going out just pottering about the house doing the usual chores one has to do when one is a domestic engineer. By lunchtime, 1.30pm my foundation still looked fresh, it hadn’t gone patchy in fact I can honestly say it did not budge, even in the hot weather, even though I have “hot flushes” and I hadn’t gone shiny either. By the end of the day when I wear make up I’m usually dying to take it off because my skin feels “suffocated” but I couldn’t feel that I was wearing a full coverage foundation with The One. I am over the moon with this wonderful foundation, it was worth waiting for!  So for a foundation that adapts to your skin-tone and texture, that’s full coverage, buildable with a matte finish you would think I paid a fortune for it, but I didn’t it is only £4.00 for 29ml bottle, a little goes a long way. Mark bought me my Makeup Revolution goodies online at Superdrug HERE or you can purchase direct from their own website HERE  and they do ship worldwide too!

THIS PRODUCT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today lovely people.

  1. I’m pleased you reviewed this foundation. I did read reviews that said it was watery, but two light coats sound like a good idea. Maybe it’s best for mature skin? I use Liz Earle Sheer Tint, which is light and doesn’t settle into my pores at all. It can sometimes turn a bit shiny, so I like that the Makeup Revolution finish is matt, will definitely try it.

    • I think this is great for mature skin. It’s like it was made for us! I had The One foundation used on me when I had my mini makeover at the launch of the brand, and I loved it then and knew I had to have it.
