Crowd Colour Matte Liquid Lip…

Hello, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Ok so Crowd Colour are a brand that gives! Not only great quality make up but everything you buy from them they give 10% back to your local schools and community! Click the link HERE. To learn more.

Gareth from Crowd Colour very kindly sent me three of their Matte Liquid Lip colours, this one is RUBY.

This next shade is another red with more pink undertones, this is CHLOE.

But my favourite shade and the one that I wear most of is a coral/nude shade called IZZY.

I do like the way the liquid lipsticks apply, they have a doe foot applicator and they go on to the lips so smoothly, the three shades are very highly pigmented and they dry to a silky matte finish. When I tried the RUBY lip colour I wasn’t sure I would like any of them, I’ve always been wary of matte lip products, due to my ageing thinning lips! On first applying I noticed how flakey my lips were! So I removed the colour and used a lip scrub to get rid of the dryness. That’s better, the dark red lip colour looked a whole lot better. It dried down in about 5 minutes, and I did notice that my lips felt slightly dry and tight, but I guess that’s just the nature of a lot of matte lip products, they aren’t very moisturising, are they?

I applied my matte lip colour after breakfast, and the colour was still on at lunchtime. I drink a lot of coffee and water throughout the day AND I’m a lip licker and the colour stayed on my lips without me needing to re-apply. It did however start to break down and disappear after I had eaten a salad sandwich with mayonnaise. I decided to remove the rest of the lip colour, and I used a normal micellar water which took it off completely, so there’s no need to scrub it off your lips, it will come off in a normal skin care routine.

There are 6 pretty shades available, check them out HERE.

MUA Luxe Velvet Matte Lipstick

Hello, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Today I’m coming to you to share  a lovely new lipstick that I purchased myself from MUA Makeup Academy. This is relatively new to their Luxe range of cosmetics, it’s the Velvet Matte Lipstick, I have shade number 12.

Really gorgeous packaging for this lipstick in black and gold matte. The cap and bullet are a really strong “snap” open/closure, absolutely no chance of this opening in your makeup bag! The lipstick itself is faceted with clean  sharp edges for a really neat and precise application to the lips. It applies like a dream too. I was never really a fan of matte lip products, thinking that they just made my lips look dry and thin and more aged, but for a matte lipstick I found this one quite moisturising and my lips didn’t look thin and “old” either. But what is it about matte lip products, why do they all smell like a painters workshop? The weird smell isn’t as strong with this lipstick, but it is there, although it doesn’t taste horrid. Once you have got by the smell and the lipstick had dried down there is no transference to my coffee cup and it didn’t disappear when I ate food either. In fact I had the colour on my lips for about 4 hours, without it fading and leaving me with that horrid dry lip line, even with me always licking my lips too. A highly pigmented full coverage matte lipstick that I really am enjoying at the moment, and I never thought I would. I am actually going to purchase another couple of shades right after I’ve posted this, from the MUA website HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Milani Colour Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick…

Hello and welcome back to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I’m sharing with you my thoughts of another lovely product by Milani Cosmetics that I purchased recently.

This is the Colour Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick, and I have the shade Matte Beauty. I have always been wary of using matte lipsticks, for a couple of reasons, the first one being that without a hint of sheen on my lips it would be ageing for a lady my age, and the second reason was that I thought it would be drying on my lips and once removed my lips would be dry too. But when I used this little beauty my concerns were no more. This lipstick glides on so smoothly and indeed it’s lovely and moisturising from the grapeseed extract within it. The longevity of wear is great too, I wore it for about 3 hours before it looked like it needed topping up, and most surprisingly there isn’t a lot of transference onto my coffee cup either and when I ate a nectarine it was still on my lips!

As you can tell from the “swatch” it really is a matte lipstick with no sheen or sparkle whatsoever. When I removed it my lips weren’t dry and stained from wear, which I have found with some matte lipsticks in the past. I really like this lipstick and I shall be buying more shades and there are some beautiful shades to choose from on the brand new Milani UK website HERE.

Have you tried Milani Cosmetics yet? What can you recommend to me?

Bell Cosmetics Hypoallergenic Lip Tint…..

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I have another Hypoallergenic product from the fantastic Bell Cosmetics for you today, it’s a pretty Lip Tint. I don’t feature lip products very often on Elegant Ageless Beauty, it’s something I don’t tend to buy a lot of. But when I saw this on the Beauty Crowd website I just had to give it a try. I’ve used a lip tint before from another brand and I didn’t like it at all but it was a “felt pen” type and very drying, this lip tint however, isn’t.

I do like the packaging of the Bell Cosmetics brand, it so clean looking but very pretty, I love the white with black branding.

The lid of the product that encases the applicator shows the shade of lip tint within the tube. In my case I have the shade 01, unfortunately it doesn’t have a name. But this one is a pretty pale pink.

The lip tint when applied to the lips goes on very smooth. Just apply with the sponge doe foot applicator for a pretty “your lips but better” look. It’s super pigmented, and I thought it would be sticky after it’s applied, like the other brand I tried, but it’s not it dries to a lovely matte finish, and the colour lasts for hours, even through eating and drinking and it didn’t dry my lips out either. You can of course pop a clear lip gloss over the top for a more shimmery look too. The Bell Hypo Lip Tint is available in 6 pretty colours and it’s only £3.95 HERE

Thank You for stopping by today!

Hello again lovelies!

I thought that I would do a “What’s in my makeup bag” post, I’ve never done one before and I do love to have a nosy at what other are keeping in theirs. Here goes and I hope you enjoy reading.

Firstly my makeup bag is Calvin Klein, I won a “Euphoria” gift set on twitter a few months ago. It’s black with gorgeous pink satin lining and it’s wipe clean too which is great. So onto the contents then.

As you can see I’ve got 2 palettes in my make-up bag at the moment, I’ve been using them together and they really compliment each other, Makeup Revolution’s Iconic 3 and MUA’s Undress Me Too. Love them!!

My go too foundation of the moment is Undress Your Skin from MUA, in shade Beige. I’ve a few foundations in my make up collection but this one always ends up sneaking its way into my every day make up bag. It’s just great at covering any imperfections but because of its light diffusing particles it still leaves my skin with a dewy finish. For face powder I’m loving the pressed powder compact from FashionistA. It’s just so light and doesn’t sink into my lines and never looks cakey either. The compact itself is pretty classy looking with a huge swivel mirror. My go too blusher at the moment is another MUA Makeup Academy  product, it’s a cream blusher in shade Bittersweet, a pretty pink.

For my eyebrows I’ve fallen in love with the MUA Luxe Power Brow, shape and highlight in mid brown. It’s a retractable pencil one end and a pretty highlighter at the other end. I use the highlighter just under my eyebrows and also blend some just above my cheeks to highlight, it saves me carrying a highlighter palette in my bag. Eye primer is the  Professional Eyes Primer from MUA and eyeliner is Intense Colour Eyeliner from of course MUA. Mascara is the fabulous Lash Boom Volume and Length from MUA in Black.

I’ve got a few lip products in my make up bag that I flit between. My favourite lipstick of the moment is my beautiful Makeup Revolution one in shade The One a really gorgeous nude shade that is so creamy and moisturising, I love it! If I want to wear colour I’ve been choosing Makeup Revolution’s Salvation Intense Lip Lacquer in shade A Love Like That a very pigmented red shade that lasts on my lips for hours, and I’m a lip licker! For something less vibrant on my lips it just has to be MUA’s Matte Lipstick in shade Pouty Pink, sometimes all I want on my lips is a little bit of gloss and for that I go for Makeup Revolution’s Amazing Sheer Lip gloss in shade Move A little Closer, such a pretty and sheer pink gloss that adds just a smidge of colour and shine.

I also carry a few cotton buds in my make up bag too, just in case I smudge anything, my hand cream is from Champneys and my perfume is a handbag sized Euphoria from Calvin Klein.

I think that’s about it for now, I don’t think I’ve forgotten anything. I have done reviews on all these products in various post, but if you want to know about anything in particular just leave me a comment in the comments section and I’ll get back to you.

Another Haul from MUA Make up Academy…..

Hiya everyone how are you all? Well I hope.

Well it just had to be done, yet another make up haul from MUA Make up Academy and Fashionista!  I think i can now admit that I am an MUA addict, official!

I usually only buy when MUA have an offer on so I was over the moon when they reached 100,000 “Likes” on their Facebook page as they promised 35% discount to customers on their online STORE. However, the discount code wasn’t going to be “live” till later that evening. So when my other half asked me what I was going to be buying he did some sums and said to me to forget about the 35% off just spend £30 and get free shipping instead. ( MUA offer free shipping on orders £30 plus) He also thought that there would be such a frenzy on the website, with things being out of stock etc, he didn’t want me to be disappointed. So I placed my order before the 35% discount was introduced. I was expecting to wait at least a week for my parcel to arrive, but 2 days later I had an email to say that my order was shipped. All I had to do was wait for the post to arrive with my goodies. In the meantime I got another email from MUA to say I was being refunded £1.00 as an item was out of stock. I began to worry then as it brought my total order to under the £30 I had to place in order to get the free shipping. But a HUGE Thank You to MUA for brilliant customer service, they did not charge me for shipping!!!!

Because my haul is fairly big, I thought I would review my new products in two posts. I shall begin with my MUA stash first.

Here is my shopping list.

Matte Palette – £4.00

2 Matte Lipsticks @ £1.00 each in shade Pouty Pink and Peachy Keen

2 Colour Blast Eyeshadow Tints @ £3.00 each in shades Stay and A Girl Like Me

4 Nail Varnish @ £1.00 each in shades Koala Bear, Plum Noir, Deepest Purple and Stormy Skies

Mascara – £1.00 – in shade 6

Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model make up palette – £7.00 rrp £12.00

Matte Lipstick

I am going to start with the new matte lipsticks. I always thought that as I aged I couldn’t use a matte lipstick. When these little beauties arrived and I put them on my lips oh how wrong was I!  Firstly I was amazed at how smooth they glided on my lips, no dragging at all and the colour pay off is gorgeous the two shades I have are very pigmented. Did they make my lips dry? defiantly not. In fact I was extremely surprised as to how moisturising they are. They last on the lips for a couple of hours for me, I am always licking my lips, a bad habit. I love the white and gold packaging of the new lipsticks too, and because these are white it means I can find a matte lipstick easier in my make up bag, when all my other lipsticks are in black packaging. There are 5 colours in the Matte collection and they all look gorgeous, I bought “Peachy Keen” and “Pouty Pink”

Nail Varnish

I bought 4 new shades of nail varnish. I love them all! This time I went for colours that I can wear for Autumn/Fall. I love berry colours and the two berry shades I have here may look as though they are the same colour, believe me they are different. The darker of the two,” Plum Noir” is very much more of a purple tone going towards black, it’s really gorgeous. My other berry shade,” Deepest Purple” tends to be more on the pink side of purple, it’s a lot lighter in tone. Both shades need at least a two coat application to get a smooth mani. I find that my manicure using MUA nail polish lasts me a good 5 days without chipping, I do always put a clear top coat on. The other two colours I bought are Grey tones. The lightest of the two,” Koala Bear” is really very pretty, and quite anti – aging on my hands. I did find with this colour though I need 2/3 coats to get a good finish as it is quite light. I am going to experiment with this one, I want to have a go at the newspaper print nail art! I think if I apply just one coat and then do the newspaper transfer, I think it could work. If it does, I will let you know. Lastly, the darkest grey “Stormy Skies” I haven’t worn properly,  I have just swatched it here for you to see. It does look beautiful though. This is a very dark metallic looking grey, with brownish undertones, it’s one of those shades that looks good on long or short nails. I put 2 coats on this swatch, I think to make it look even darker you could go to 3 coats and it would look stunning.

I bought one mascara, and this time I decided to go for it and get a coloured one rather than my usual black. This one is from the MUA £1.00 range of mascara and it’s Blue! I haven’t worn blue mascara for years and years. I think I must have been in my teens, I used to wear it with a matching blue kohl pencil! This mascara is just your straight up, no bells and whistles mascara. It doesn’t say “volumising” or “lengthening” or “curling” or “thickening”. I was dreading trying it as my lashes do need a bit of help now. But I was very surprised that this little £1.00 mascara is great! I curled my lashes before applying it as I would normally do and I got very nice blue eyelashes that were also thickened!  If the coloured mascara does that to my lashes, I think I shall have to try the black one too for every day.

Colour Blast Eyeshadow Tint

I have wanted to try these eye crayon/tint sticks ever since MUA released them. I bought 2 shades. “Stay” and “A Girl Like Me”. Hmm, the jury is out on these at the moment. The packaging is very nice, a chubby little twist up creamy eye crayon, meant to give you a long-lasting tint of colour. If you have oily eyelids I think you will need your primer over your lids first. I just tried mine without primer just to see how they blended. They do blend very nicely but after a while the colour creased on my lids, it had all collected into my socket crease. I think I shall give these another go but with a primer on first, then if I’m still not happy I could always put a powder shadow over the top. I do like the colours I chose, they give a very nice natural look, but I don’t think I shall re-purchase these.

Britain and Ireland Next Top Model Palette

Now then, you know how I love my make up palettes! Well this palette, giving its full title “Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model” is just absolutely wonderful. Wow. It has everything you need to create a fabulous face. Apart from needing your foundation, lipstick and mascara that is. It contains 28 eyeshadows, with a variety of matte, shimmer and pearl shades. It also contains a gorgeous pink blusher, a super bronzer which isn’t to shiny or orangey and a highlighter.  Every eyeshadow is super pigmented the product pay off is brilliant, but you don’t get any “fall out” when applying it as you would normally with high pigmented product. Everything in the palette feels super creamy too, and easy to blend, and buildable for more intense colour. This really is an amazing palette.

Matte Palette

I have been waiting for MUA to bring us this palette for ages, and now I have it, and it has become my all time favourite from this fab company.  The Matte palette, which MUA have actually given a name to, “Ever After” contains 10 fantastic matte eyeshadows and each colour has a name to it. I am so glad that MUA are starting to do that with new products they bring out, a name is much easier to remember than a number I feel. The first four colours in the palette I had terrible trouble swatching for the photos, but i hope that you get some idea. On the top row then, you have “Unwrap”, “Butter”, “Bare”, “Taffeta” and “Fade” these are more sheer in texture, but so creamy and truly matte. On the bottom row of the palette you have, “Penny”, “Chino”, “Truffle”, “Fog” and “Smoke”. Once again they are so creamy and smooth and they blend out beautifully. The top row with the lighter shades are ideal for your lid colour and also highlight under the brow, the bottom row shades you can do your smokey eye looks, and crease contour. This palette is also brilliant for us older ladies who can no longer wear really glittery eyeshadow, matte colours are less aging on us as there is no fall out to drop into any lines or wrinkles. I would  recommend this palette in a heartbeat to anyone, but especially to the older lady. Top Marks to MUA for this one!

Lastly, just before I pop off to prepare my next post, I just want to share with you something that my fiance made for me. He came home from work and handed me this fab make up brush holder that he made during a quiet moment at work!  I love it, and all I have to do is find some pretty fabric to cover it. All my brushes were in a roll up pouch and I was getting fed up having to keep un rolling it every time I wanted to do my make up, and then it would take up so much room when it was un rolled. Pretty nifty eh?

So that’s it for now friends till next time. I shall be back with some Fashionista pieces for review and also the results of my Avon Anew trial that I did recently. Take care.
