B. Makeup Long Wear Brow Cream…

Hey there welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Okay, I’m not an eyebrows on fleek kinda woman, I always make sure they are plucked and trimmed, and yes now I’m in the latter stages of my 50’s they can look rather straggly if I don’t keep them in check. I usually just comb through then dab on a bit of pencil or eye shadow to fill in the gaps. I’ve never used a pomade, a cream based eyebrow product before, until now, and I actually really rather like it! This is the B. Makeup Long Wear Brow Cream which is available from Superdrug, of course.

B-MakeupBrowCream

This is in a cute little opaque glass like pot with the B. branding in white. This is going to last me ages even if I’m using it every day. It goes on creamy but it does dry down and doesn’t smudge or rub off at all, it really is long wearing too. I have a few grey to white hairs in my brows nowadays and I really don’t fancy dyeing them, so this brow cream covers the grey up completely. I did make the mistake of using way too much product on my brush when I started using the brow cream and my eyebrows ended up feeling very hard and tacky, not nice at all. But I practised and now as they say, less is more. You can add more if you wish as it’s buildable to the intensity you want, but be aware that you do then get the tackiness if you do go over the top. I find that at the end of the day when I remove my makeup I need my oil cleanser to remove the brow cream thoroughly, that’s the staying power of this brow cream.

The B. Makeup Brow Cream doesn’t come with an application brush so you will need to purchase a slanted eyebrow brush if you don’t have one in your collection, and B. Make up do have some in their range. I have a couple of brushes from another brand but they are long ones and I need to hold my mirror quite close to see what I’m doing, I’m finding the long brush hinders me somewhat, so I need to get myself a shorter brush to use just for my eyebrows! Other than that this is going to be my “Go to” brow product now. For this and other super eyebrow products for take a look HERE.

Billion Dollar Brows…..Brow Duo Pencil..

Hello loves, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I’m not a huge keeper of eyebrows, for me they aren’t the main emphasis to my makeup. I pluck to keep them groomed and add a bit of colour to wake my face up a tad, and that’s it. I have however been using this product that I’m sharing with you quite a bit just lately, especially if I leave the house. This is Billion Dollar Brows Brow Duo Pencil.

It’s a highlighter (the lightest colour) on one end of the pencil, it’s a concealer to the other end. I’ve used the highlighter end under my eyebrows, Glide the highlighter end of the pencil over the brow bone,  under your eyebrow, then blend into the skin to define your eyebrows, you can also use on the cupids bow to give lips the more plumped up look, for me it works better than a shimmery highlighter as it’s a lot less intense and more natural for someone of my age. The universal concealer end is actually a great colour match, and it’s great for spot coverage, and covering darker areas on my eyes. For me it’s not creamy enough to use under the eyes, I do need a more hydrating concealer there. The Billion Dollar Brows Brow Duo Pencil is a fab addition to my makeup bag. Find it HERE.

See you next time, I’ve got a couple of gorgeous facial oils coming up on my blog soon.

GOSH Brow Shape and Fill plus the Mix and Fix Blender Brush….

Hello welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I’ve got a couple more GOSH Copenhagen products for you, they were sent to me for reviewing here on EAB.

Shall I start with the brush you see before you? It’s the Mix and Fix Blender Brush. This flat-headed face brush is unique I feel. I’ve never seen such a brush before, I’ve seen many flat-headed brushes but not one with a “well” in the middle! The brush itself is 100% synthetic hair so is vegan friendly. So why is there a hole or well in the centre of the brush? This brush is perfect to use for mixing foundation shades or to add a facial oil to foundation. You simply place the products you want to mix together into the hole then apply to the face as usual. I actually trialed the brush by mixing my foundation (from another brand, I don’t have a GOSH one) with my GOSH Lumi Drops and applied to my face. The brush is great for blending, and with a head that is small enough to get around the contours of the eyes and soft enough for under the eyes it leaves my skin looking great with a flawless coverage of foundation, and it doesn’t feel like it’s scratching my skin at all, also another plus, there is no brush hair fallout either while I was applying to my face or when I washed it either. This is a really great addition to my brush collection, and one that will get used rather a lot I suspect. You can get this and more fantastic GOSH products from Superdrug on the High Street or online HERE.

The last GOSH Copenhagen product I’m sharing with you is one for the eye brows. I’m not really an eye brow person to be honest, but I’m learning and Brow Shape and Fill is really helping me to get on track. It’s a double ended product, with a retractable pencil at one end and powder with sponge applicator at the other end. The pencil end is for shaping the brows, I found it to be a hard pencil while I was applying it but not at all difficult to work with. It’s a slanted shaped pencil which helps with the application using those light feathery types strokes! Filling in is really easy with the powder and sponge tip applicator, it completely covers the odd grey eyebrow hairs that are appearing more regularly now. You can apply the powder as light or as heavy as you like to get the coverage you want. I comb through my brows with a spoolie after applying to distribute the colour evenly. The GOSH Brow Shape and Fill is great for those days when you need to be quick with your makeup, using just the powder to fill in the brows which is in fact how I like to use this product. Get the GOSH Brow Shape and Fill from Superdrug on the High Street or online HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil…. My Thoughts

Hello my lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I hate anything to do with my eyebrows! I cannot properly give myself perfect eyebrows to face the world with. I’ve never had the patience to let them grow back from the dreadful over-plucking as was the trend back in the day, we wore them very thin then! Oh they aren’t really thin now they have grown somewhat, but I can’t seem to shape them very well anymore, poor eyesight doesn’t help. I just tend to pluck out what I need to and trim up the stragglers! I’ve got some eyebrow hairs that has turned grey and are difficult to cover, or rather difficult to stay covered. In essence my eyebrows are the bane of my beauty life! BUT, I now have Billion Dollar Brows!

In fact I have the Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil, which was sent to me from KLM Beauty.

This is a gorgeous double ended brow pencil, with a fantastic spoolie brush to comb the product through your eyebrows. Why Universal? Because it’s been formulated to work on all colours of eyebrows. My brows have got lighter over the years with the few added grey’s too. But this brown brow pencil works fantastically well for me. The lighter the colour brows, the lighter the pressure when using the pencil. It’s not a hard pencil it does apply easily by coating the grey hairs to my liking and it combs through well with the spoolie, AND it lasts on my brows until I remove it. It’s a retractable pencil which I find handy because I don’t have to worry about breaking the pencil in my makeup bag, however I do think that maybe the pencil could have been finer/sharper point. Other than that one gripe, the Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil is great and has restored my faith in my own eyebrows again, they may not be “on fleek” but I feel now I can brush my fringe away sometimes!

The Hollywood Browzer – A cut above?

Welcome my lovelies!

For a while I have been using a little facial razor to remove hair from certain parts of me. As I’ve aged I have had hair pop up in places where I don’t want them to be. I bought a pack of 3 razors from the high street and used them on places like my chin and down my neck, tops of my eyebrows and even my ear lobes get hair appear on them! What?! They worked ok but then a few days later I have to do it again, they also scratched me a bit too. So when Hollywood Browzer contacted me to see if I would like to try their razor and then review on my blog, I thought I’d give them a go, see if this razor would give me smoother skin, hair free skin.

hollywoodbrowzer

Okay, you get 2 razors in the pack and, also which aren’t showing in the photo a little pouch to keep just one razor inside. I would have preferred that the pouch had room for both razors personally. The blade itself is made of stainless steel “waffle” coated blade with safety guards to both sides so as not to cut or irritate the skin at all. It’s meant to be great for the removal of unwanted facial hair, shaping the eyebrows, upper lip, down the neck, on the chin, bikini line of course and the guys can use it too, it’s meant to be great for the back of the neck.

So how did I use my Hollywood Browzer? I used it for those pesky chin hairs and the ones that sometimes pop up on my throat area. It did clear those hairs away in one swoop of the razor. I’ve always used a razor for between my eyebrows so that I don’t end up with a mono brow, it’s perfect for that area, the Hollywood Browzer left the area lovely and smooth and clean. Shaping the eyebrows themselves was slightly trickier, when my brows get long and straggly I usually shape them by combing them upwards then trimming with scissors, then comb them downwards and trimming, then pluck under the brows. I managed to shape the top of the brows, but I just wasn’t confident enough to trim underneath, I was going to close to my eyes. So onto the upper lip hair which I always remove with a hair removing cream for sensitive skin. I used the Browzer to remove my upper lip hair and the hair from the sides of my mouth where I would put the hair removing cream. It’s quicker at removing the hair than cream, but I found after a while that area felt dry and I had a sort of numb feeling too, it did sting slightly when I applied moisturiser, I think that I should have let the area calm down first in hindsight, but I shall definitely use the Browzer again for my upper lip hair. Another area I used it on was my hands, fingers and the big toe! It’s fabulous for those areas, so the Hollywood Browzer will now become part of my weekly manicure and pedicure too, and because it folds up I can keep it stored away neatly.

The Hollywood Browzer is £15 for a pack of 2 razors, each one will last 2 to 3 months, click HERE.
