Ko-To-Ha Lavender Cleanser

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa..

I was recently contacted by Yoko who founded her Japanese beauty company Ko-To-Ha in 2015, to ask me if I would like to try some of her skincare products and then review them here on Elegant Ageless Beauty. As its natural skincare something that I love, I was more than happy to agree to trialing. I have 4 products in all to share with you, and I will writing a separate post for each product.

The first thing I noticed about Ko-To-Ha‘s products is the  packaging, it’s pretty, clean white with a hint of pink! Winner for me. But the ingredients are also a huge winner for me. Ko-To-Ha uses Japanese  Oriental Shoyaku herbs in all their products. Shoyaku is Japanese “active medicinal herb” and ko-To-Ha uses a combination of them. These herbs are: Ginseng, which   contains Vitamin B1, B2 and B12 Amino acid. Ginseng also helps the regeneration of skin cells and it amazingly has the ability to stop the decrease of Hyalauronic acid! There’s Peonia Lactiflora it’s used for its anti inflammatory purposes and is also astringent. When used it also helps to reduce the look of large pores. Chinese Angelica, contains Amino Acid its anti allergen and is often used to treat eczema. Mulberry Root Bark, contains flavonoids, is a powerful antioxidant and is 30 times more powerful than vitamin c! Licorice, is a skin brightener and it’s an anti-allergen so safe for eczema too. Green Tea, contains antioxidants , it helps with the regeneration of skin cells. Some or all of these wonderful herbs can be found in the ko-To-Ha products I’m sharing with you over the next few blog posts. So let me start at the beginning with the  Skin Cherish Lavender Cleanser.

Okay, so it’s certainly Lavender it smells amazing of it, absolutely gorgeous if you like the fragrance of Lavender. So after the initial “hit” of the fragrance I picked up the cute little scoop to take some product from the pot. I thought it was going to be a soft rich cream, but no it’s not soft at all. It is actually more like a “balm” or even coconut oil that has set hard in its jar. I scooped out the cleanser and followed the instructions on how to use, which I do recommend you read if you get hold of the cleanser. This is how Ko-To-Ha say to use the Skin Cherish Lavender Cleanser.

  1.  Take one spatula-full of cleanser in the palm . Spread the cleanser evenly on your palm (your palms should look white all over).
  2. Dip your fingertips in warm water and blend with cleanser. Then the cleanser becomes smooth. Please be sure to just add water little-by-little.
  3. Spread the cleanser on your face using a circular motion. If the cleanser becomes dry and hard, add a little warm water again to make it smooth. Repeat this process so any remaining dirt and makeup blends with the cleanser.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Now, I did this and when the cleanser is spread all over your hands they do look very white, the cleanser feels like no cleanser I’ve ever used, before adding water to my hands it feels “hard” it’s not oily or greasy in any way at all. I did think how on earth was this going to cleanse my face! But once I had added warm water to my hands and began smoothing the cleanser over my face it massages in wonderfully. I like to massage for a good couple of minutes and I found that the cleanser goes dry and hard while massaging my face, but I just added more warm water and it was okay again. I washed the cleanser away with a face cloth to complete the routine.

After I finished cleansing, my skin looked clean, bright and felt very soft, neither dry or tight. I would however use this as a second cleanse after removing makeup, or as my morning cleanse which in fact is what I am doing, I use it every morning and am really enjoying it. You can find this lovely cleanser HERE.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil…

So I’m a bit late to the party when it comes to using this brand that is well-known among many a beauty blogger. This is Japanese brand DHC, who specialise in skincare using Virgin Olive Oil, one of the best ingredients for the upkeep of healthy young-looking skin, and this is the Deep Cleansing Oil where FYI, 1 is sold every 10 seconds worldwide, and that’s a fact!

The packaging is clean and simple looking, it’s a pump dispensing method while the bottle is plastic, great for me being so clumsy at the moment, it’s not going to break if I drop it, hey! The main ingredients are Olive Oil and there is also some Rosemary Oil in there too, it’s so rich in vitamins and antioxidants to help keep the skin looking and feeling nourished and hydrated after cleansing. It’s said it can tackle even the most waterproof of makeup, even waterproof mascara. So yay to that, I can use waterproof mascara, at last. (I need to curl my eyelashes you see, and a waterproof mascara will hold a curled lash the best) I just need to purchase one now. So how did I get on with this beautifully rich amber looking cleanser? Read on.

I used just one pump worth in  my hand, it’s not a thin runny oil so it didn’t run out of my fingers. I put my hands together to transfer some oil to my other hand too. I continued to massage the oil over my face and gently over my eyes. While I was massaging my face I noticed the fragrance, while not horrible or unpleasant it does smell like a rich oil, and I like it! I think I massaged my face and around my eyes for a couple of minutes I was thoroughly enjoying the cleansing oil experience. The DHC Deep Cleansing Oil is water-soluble, so I added a bit of water to my hands and massaged over my face where the oil turned a milky white. You can if you wish just completely rinse off the oil cleanser plus makeup and grime with water alone, but I do prefer to use a wet face flannel or muslin cloth to rinse off all types of cleanser, so I treated this exactly the same. Afterwards? Wow, I love how my face felt, it was clean, refreshed, smooth and not at all dry and tight, there was no trace of mascara left on my lashes, all eyeshadow was gone, primer, foundation and concealer all gone, absolutely amazing cleansing. I guess also, when used regularly the olive oil will nourish my eyelashes too, and for me that can be a good thing as it’s one of a number of things that is depressing me with the aging process, that my eye lashes have become sparse.

It looks like the DHC Cleansing Oil is on sale at the moment for just £21.60 on the UK website HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Ellora Beauty…. Cleansing Beauty Milk..

Hello loves, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a lovely lady from a brand new skincare company asking me if I would like to review some of their products on EAB. It’s a British brand with fantastic ethics so I jumped at the chance, please let me introduce to you to ELLORA BEAUTY.

Ellora Beauty is a new skincare range that uses “state of the art biotech ingredients with the most efficacious botanicals, channelling them into high performance skincare products”  It’s cruelty free, so not tested on animals. Sustainable ingredient sourcing is used, and with environmentally friendly packaging too! Fabulous! Ellora Beauty have a wonderful website explaining completely the science behind their brand, I will leave all links at the end of this post for you to have a read. In the meantime let me share with you the first of 4 products I have from the company, this is the Cleansing Beauty Milk…

ellora2

A huge 150ml in a lovely pump action dispensary bottle that gives you the amount you need for a thorough cleanse, and it smells amazing, a joy to use, it’s like Springtime in a bottle! Although called a cleansing milk it’s more like a beautiful rich cream, full of amazing ingredients like Swiss Apple Stem Cells to fight the visible signs of ageing, Damask Rose and Mountain Tea are in there to nourish the skin, and Red Clover Extract which is rich in isoflavones and helps to give a more refined look to the skin and leaving it looking and feeling soft and smooth.

This is how I have been using my beautiful Cleansing Beauty Milk. I applied 2 pumps of beauty milk onto my hands and then massaged over my face neck and decollete for a couple of minutes, using upward circular motions, as recommended on the pack. You can then remove it by splashing it off with warm water or use cotton wool, I prefer to use a wet face cloth/muslin cloth to remove ALL my cleansers so I treated this no different. After I had removed it, my face felt so clean and refreshed, it was smooth and glowing, not a trace of grime and makeup was left behind, and my skin wasn’t dry and tight at all afterwards. I love to use this cleansing milk as my morning cleanse, it just refreshes the senses to waken me up, it really is a gorgeous cleanser that I’m enjoying using. Suitable for all skin types and just £16 it wont break the bank either, and you can purchase using the code ELEGANTAGELESSBEAUTY for a 10% discount on ALL Ellora products HERE.

If you want to know the science bit, have a look HERE.

Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser….

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

I have been so lucky to have been sent some beautiful Omorovicza  skincare products to review on Elegant Ageless Beauty. They were sent to me by my lovely friend and fellow beauty blogger Kim, who is also Global Director of Spa Development for Omorovicza Cosmetics, which is a skincare company and spa in Hungary. You can check out Kim’s blog Thefabcompany HERE. So let me start at the very beginning with a gorgeous cream cleanser..

omoroviczamoorcreamcleanser

Hungarian Moor Mud is Omorovicza’s “unique and effective ingredient”, its rich in calcium and magnesium  and has proven skin perfecting qualities, and its now been introduced into their NEW cream cleanser, added for its purifying and detoxifying properties. Other ingredients within the cleanser are Zinc Oxide to help with inflammation and reduce pore size. There’s my favourite Lavender in the cleanser too, with Eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils added for a cooling and antiseptic effect on the skin. There is no artificial colour or fragrance, and it’s free of parabens too.

The first thing I noticed when I began using the Moor Cream Cleanser was the beautiful fragrance, I adore the smell of natural Lavender and this is what I got while massaging the “pea” size amount of product over my dampened skin. While I was massaging I noticed that occasionally I could feel tiny specks of the Moor mud, which isn’t scratchy or irritating on my skin, in fact I just felt that it was doing good things! The cleanser feels so rich and creamy to use and I could really feel as though I was getting a deep down cleanse. To remove you can just splash off the cleanser with warm water then pat your face dry. Personally I like to wet my hands, give my face one last massage over then remove with a wet face cloth. I do like to use my Moor Cream Cleanser as a second cleanse at night after removing my makeup with a micellar water, this cleanser can’t be used to remove eye makeup. After using, my skin feels absolutely fabulous! it feels soft and smooth, not at all tight and dry or itchy. It looks brighter and more refreshed, and I think that my pores appeared to be rather lessened too which is a bonus for me! This truly wonderful Moor Cream Cleanser can be found on the Omorovicza website HERE.

There are going to be 3 more NEW Omorovicza products coming up on Elegant Ageless Beauty over the next week or so. Thank you for stopping by today.

“The First Bee Venom Cleanser in the World” Heaven by Deborah Mitchell Skincare…

Hello lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I’ve another Heaven Skincare product to share with you today. This is the New Edition Cream Cleanser from Heaven by Deborah Mitchell Skincare

HeavenSkincare_CleansingCream

This is the first cleanser to contain a Botox alternative (without the use of needles) Abeetoxin* using bee venom, and was created and patented by Deborah Mitchell. There will be more about Abeetoxin* in a later post when I shall explain more. All I shall say to you right now is that if you are allergic to bee stings then this cleanser is not for you.

An anti-aging cleanser for all ages and all skin types, especially dry skin and perfect for hormonal skin, said to remove makeup, dirt and grime from face and eyes, and with Abeetoxin* in there also helps to keep the skin wrinkle free. Some of the other ingredients within this cleanser are Lavender essential oil, Rose essential oil, Shea Butter, Honey extract, Marshmallow Extract and Jojoba too.

Can I just say to start with that this cleanser smells amazing! I can really smell natural Lavender, it’s just like walking through a Norfolk Lavender field, gorgeous! So the cleanser is in a pump bottle, I have the travel size but I think that the full size bottle will be the twist up pump dispensary. I used 4 pumps of cleanser massaged over my face and eyes which I then left on my skin for a few minutes before removing it with a warm wet face cloth/muslin cloth. It removed ALL traces of makeup, including mascara. Apparently it will remove waterproof mascara but I can’t say yay or nay to that as I don’t have a waterproof mascara. After cleansing, my skin looks and feels fantastic. It’s so smooth, it doesn’t feel dry or tight, I also think it looks a bit plumper too, especially around my eyes. I haven’t tried it yet, but after cleansing you can actually re-apply the cleanser and use it as your moisturiser, which will be perfect for weekends away and holidays when you have limited case space. I’ll try it as a moisturiser and get back to you. A truly beautiful cleanser, you can find it HERE

I’d love the full size bottle of the Special Edition Cream Cleanser, it’s £37.00 so this is one to go on my Birthday wishlist.

THEA SKINCARE AGE REVIVAL CLEANSER AND EXFOLIATOR…

Hell again lovely people!

Today I’m bringing to a close my reviews of the Thea Skincare range of anti-aging products, and I have really enjoyed using them and totally in love with everything that Thea sent me to try. Here I’m giving you my thoughts of the Antioxidant Face Cleanser and the Dream Creme Exfoliator.

IMG_5815

This is a beautiful rich face cleanser full of natural and organic anti-aging ingredients, you don’t need to use lot of product to get a deep down cleansing, it just melts into the skin. Organic Aloe juice seals in moisture and encourages new cells to form, Organic Olive Oil provides hydration and moisturises the skin, Organic White Tea helps protect from free radicals, anti-bacterial Cedar wood Oil to purify. Juniper Berry Essential Oil to cleanse the skin and Vitamin E anti-aging vitamin to protect the skin with a natural SPF 6. You can use the cleanser on damp cotton wool and wiped over the skin or apply it straight to the skin and massage in circular motion (this is my preferred method of cleansing) and then wipe away with a muslin cloth or face cloth which is what I use. After using this face cleanser my skin didn’t feel dry or tight, it was just so clean and smooth and looked so much brighter and I also thought that my enlarged pores weren’t quite as noticeable, which made me very happy as that’s one of the things that gets me down as regards aging, it’s my enlarged pores. Antioxidant Face Cleanser from Thea Skincare is £32.95 for a 200ml pump dispenser bottle from the online store HERE

IMG_5816

The name of this facial exfoliator is exactly what it says it is, it’s a Dream Cream! I have never used such a gentle exfoliator on my face, I love using it. Once again as with every one of Thea’s skincare products it’s full of natural and organic goodies. Organic Aloe Juice for that moisture saving and helping new skin cells to grow, Organic Coconut, Jojoba, Olive & Avocado Oils, to provide moisture and hydration, Organic Rooibos Tea an antioxidant to protect from free radicals, Roman Chamomile Essential Oil to rejuvenate mature skin and lastly Organic Jojoba Beads for the gentle exfoliation, so gentle that you can use this exfoliator every day! I use this after cleansing and it has really made a difference to the way my skin looks and feels, I was getting dry patches on my cheeks with a bit of flaking itchy skin, but upon using the exfoliator it hasn’t been occurring. It’s now 3pm and I used the cleanser, exfoliator and moisturiser at 8am and my skin is still feeling soft and smooth and not at all itchy, it just looks so much brighter too! I’ve used it twice since Thea sent me the products to try, and because it’s so gentle I’m going to mix some in with my cleanser every morning. This wonderful Dream Creme Exfoliator 50ml is £24.95 and you can find it HERE.

Wow, I have been so lucky to have been asked to review such beautiful skincare products, and I am being honest when I tell you that my skin is looking so much better. I’m loving how my eyes appear to be wider from using the amazing eye cream, my lines are less noticeable, and my skin is looking brighter, softer and pores less noticeable. I’m a very happy beauty blogger today!

Thank you for reading lovelies!

IMG_3672To top it all I was given a full size Purifying cleanser/toner to try. I’ve been using it since it arrived on Thursday.

I’m enjoying using the products  so far, and in a weeks time I shall come back with my thoughts on the cleanser and the moisturisers. AROMATHERAPY ASSOCIATES SKINCARE.

Hello again lovely people. I hope your weekend is going okay for you, it’s pretty miserable weather wise here in my part of the  UK at the moment.

You may recall in my post, Marie Claire June edition, I got some free skin care samples from a brand called Aromatherapy Associates, and I’ve been trying it for a couple of  days. The samples are  from their Hydrating range which included Renewing Rose Cleanser, Triple Rose Renewing Moisturiser and a Rose Face Mask.

Image2

Oh I really love these, and I wish they were within my budget, but they aren’t! I adore the cleanser, for one it smells amazing just like rose. Not a heady red rose but a gentle pretty pink rose. This is a creamy cleanser, light in consistency. It contains Jojoba which cleanses the skin while the rose helps to keep the skin healthy and radiant. When I used the cleanser I massaged it into my skin as I normally do my cream cleanser for about 2-3 minutes then I removed it with a warm face cloth. My skin felt so good afterwards. It felt fresh and clean and not at all dry or tight, just very smooth and conditioned.

What can I say about the wonderful moisturiser? It’s beautiful! It’s called Triple Rose because it has rose from Morocco, Turkey and Bulgaria within it to help to rejuvenate the skin, it has rosehip which is for anti-aging and  frankincense is in there too to protect and tone. I massaged this into my skin and it just drank it up, obviously it really needed it! My skin has felt good all day very hydrated and smooth. This is the best moisturiser I have ever put onto my face! unfortunately when my little tube is all used, that’s it for me!

Now the last product in my little set is the rose face mask. This is a clear gel like consistency and smells amazing. It feels so cooling on the skin. It contains Aloe Vera for hydration and damask rose-water from Bulgaria for helping the skin’s vitality. I applied the mask to my face after exfoliating as per the instructions and left it on for 10 minutes, then rinsed it off with cool water. You can follow with a skin tonic, serum, face oil and moisturiser afterwards. But as I don’t have the other products I finished with the moisturiser only. OMG my skin has never felt so good!

What an absolutely beautiful brand Aromatherapy Associates is. They have a vast range of products, not only skin care, bath and body but also for men and  home fragrance too. You can order from their website HERE.

Did anyone else try their freebies from Marie Claire and love them as much as me? Have you used this brand before? I’d love to know your thoughts if you have.

Thank you for reading lovely people.

L’Oreal Age Perfect Cleanser and Toner review.

Welcome back fellow beauty lovers.

My other half went for our supermarket grocery shopping on his own last week as I was feeling unwell. I asked him if he could pick me up a bottle of cleanser as I was nearly out. I have been using and loving an Olay cleansing milk, and I had seen that Tesco had a special offer on of said cleanser. I also asked him to pick me up the toner to go with it. Anyway, to cut a story short he couldn’t find my favourite cleanser. When he got home and we were unpacking the groceries, he said to me, “Will these do?” and he handed me two bottles. He had only picked me up L’Oreal Age Perfect Cleansing Milk and Refreshing Toner! Two products that I have wanted to try for a while, brilliant! He’s a diamond my fella.

L’Oreal Age Perfect Cleansing Milk Smoothing and Anti – Fatigue.IMG_6465

Both the cleanser and toner are packaged in plastic bottles that can be re-cycled, which I love. Keep the planet beautiful as well as ourselves I say. My only gripe with the packaging is the flip top lid on the toner. Both bottles have this same type of lid but with the toner you can tip too much product onto the cotton wool, so don’t squeeze the bottle!

Okay, so this cleanser is called a milk, but to me it is more of a thick lotion. It doesn’t pour from the bottle you have to squeeze it to get the product out. (Unlike, as I said the toner) The lotion itself contains MAGNESIUM which is known for its revitalising properties, and VITAMIN C for its energizing properties. This cleanser not only cleans, it exfoliates and hydrates the skin too leaving it looking less tired and grey.

The instructions say to “Apply to the face with cotton wool” I personally don’t do this. I apply using my fingers and massage into my skin for about 1 minute, pretty much as you would when using a cleansing balm. I feel it cleanses my skin deeper and more thorough. I then remove the cleanser with a wet face cloth. I have been using this cleanser for a week now and I can safely say that my skin is brighter, smoother and less tired looking.

L’Oreal Age Perfect Refreshing Toner Smoothing and Anti- Fatigue.

IMG_6498

Following the cleanser I have been using the Refreshing toner for Smoothing and Anti-Fatigue. It is enriched with VITAMIN C for it’s known energizing properties. I use it as per the instructions on the bottle, on a cotton wool pad and wiped over my skin. It really does refresh and tone my skin,  it appears to look a lot smoother and more glowing. When I have used toners in the past, I always used to put the product onto damp cotton wool to “dilute” the product a wee bit, but with this toner I used it straight from the bottle onto dry cotton wool and onto my skin. It also advises not to use over the eyes, but I have been using it over my eyes with no adverse side effects because it is just so gentle and doesn’t sting at all. It doesn’t feel harsh and it certainly doesn’t make my dry skin feel any drier, as I have found with most toners I have used.

The L’Oreal Age Perfect Cleanser and Toner for Mature skin really are in my opinion what they say they are “Age Perfect” and my fiance bought mine from Tesco on special offer 2 for £6.00, the offer ends on 3/2/2014. You can also purchase the range from Superdrug too.

Anyhow, have a great weekend BFN! (Bye For Now)
